Since his acting debut in High School Musical some 15 years ago, Zac Efron has come a long way and that's certainly shown in his choice of real estate. Sophisticated, grown-up and cool, the actor’s long-time home can be found in the foothills of Los Feliz, high above Hollywood and the glistening lights of central Los Angeles. Efron has owned the property for almost a decade, but this month is waving goodbye to the place for $5.9 million (£4.4m).

The epitome of a high-end bachelor pad, it's kitted out with skateboards, arcade games, pool tables and even a Japanese water feature.

Recently married Hollywood superstar, Scarlett Johansson is looking to offload her long-term penthouse apartment in the heart of New York City. The Avengers actor bought the cool crib back in 2008 for a reported $2.1 million (£1.5m) and is now asking $2.3 million (£1.7m) – a small but significant profit. The chic apartment can be found inside a charming post-war building on Manhattan's sought-after Upper East Side.

Having spent nine years playing for the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, Tristan Thompson is set to move to the Boston Celtics in November and so has put his Ohio mansion on the market. Listed for $3.3 million (£2.4m), Thompson bought the lavish property back in 2015 for $1.9 million (£1.4m).

NFL quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen have sold their Tribeca apartment for a reported $37 million (£27m) as they prepare to move to Miami full-time. The star couple has owned the 12th-floor apartment, which is located in the swanky 70 Vestry building, since 2018 when they snapped it up for just over $25 million (£18.4m).

In May 2020, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk announced in a tweet that he was "selling almost all of his physical possessions" following the birth of his first child. The entrepreneur had soon listed all seven of his properties, including a house bundle for $62.5 million (£45.8m), that included four homes in the Bel Air area of Los Angeles. They have now been reportedly sold for just shy of $62 million (£45.5m) to a local developer.

All within walking distance of each other, but not close enough to create an estate, the listing was described as "a project for a big thinker". The bundle included this flashy mega-mansion which boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms and more than 7,000 square feet of space.

Not all huge homes, the collection also includes this small one-storey home which Musk purchased in 2015 for $4.3 million (£3.1m). Built in 1962, the four-bedroom and two-and-a-half bathroom house sits on just over one acre of land with nearly 3,000 square feet of living space.

Part of the four-home bundle, Musk purchased this house at the end of January 2019 for $6.4 million (£4.7m). The two-storey home has just under 3,400 square feet of space with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. With its quaint exterior, it looks like it belongs in the rural countryside rather than LA's affluent Bel Air.

As far as celebrity real estate goes, Margot Robbie's mid-century bungalow is a bit of a bargain. The Australian actor, best known for her roles in The Wolf of Wall Street and as Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey, bought it in 2017 for a reported $950,000 (£711k). Now this cute little house is on the market with Coldwell Banker for just under $1.2 million (£899k).
