Kimye's $100m real estate split
Earlier this year, after almost seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West. With an impressive joint property portfolio worth nearly $100 million (£74m), the news has been rife with rumours about who will get what. Now, some eight months later after they announced their divorce, it seems the couple has finally come to an agreement, with Kim coughing up $23 million (£16.7m) for their minimalist Hidden Hills mansion. Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West split
Rumours swirled for months that the iconic pair were going their separate ways, but the news was confirmed when Kim filed for divorce on 19th February 2021. According to their prenup, Kim was reportedly set to receive $1 million (£720k) for every year of their marriage, amounting to a total of $6 million (£4.3m). The couple have also agreed to joint custody of their four children. However, it seems that Kim has had to splash out a hefty amount to keep the couple's Hidden Hills home...
The Hidden Hills mega-mansion
Since news of the divorce broke, Kim has remained in the couple's Hidden Hills mega-mansion, which is conveniently located across the street from Kris Jenner. The pair splashed out $20 million (£14.7m) on it in 2014, spending an additional $20 million (£14.7m) on extensive renovations to meet Kanye's minimal aesthetic. The renovations took three years, and the family finally moved into their newly renovated property in December 2017.

Kim buys out Kanye
According to Us Weekly, the SKIMS founder is now officially the sole owner of the Hidden Hills home. Kim reportedly bought Kanye's share of the sprawling estate for a grand total of $23 million (£16.7m). The star is said to have coughed up $20 million (£14.5m) for the property, while the remaining $3 million (£2.2m) bought her the contents of the home, including furniture and artwork.

The house and grounds
Set on over three acres of land, the estate features incredible vineyards, mature trees and expansive lawns. According to Realtor, Kim was said to own all the land that the house sits on, while Kanye owned the structure itself before she bought him out. Valued at around $60 million (£44.1m), Kim previously shared a sneak peek of her favourite room in the house on Instagram, the living room, which features a plush cream carpet, minimalist fireplace and soft sofas.

A split opinion
Over the years, Kim and Kanye's interior design style has split opinion, but it seems no one is more of a critic than her daughter North, eight. Speaking on the new Ellen Digital series, Mom Confessions, Kim admitted that North calls her minimalist mansion "ugly" when the pair get into a disagreement.

A sneak peek inside
Previously described by Kanye as a 'futuristic monastery', the former couple worked with Belgian architect Axel Vervoodt on the home's design. The master bedroom features a seating area and an ensuite bathroom, where Kim poses in this mirror selfie. Offering a sleek grey bath and open shower, the bathroom also boasts two unique double sinks with no basins, which went viral after the star took to Instagram to show them off.

Close to the Kardashians
In close proximity to the homes of both her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kourtney Kardashian, reports suggested that Kim wanted to stay in the home to prevent her four children from suffering any stress during the divorce, with Kanye in favour of the new living arrangements.

Kanye's concrete bunker in Malibu
While Kim has been investing in the Hidden Hills mega-mansion, Kanye most recently made headlines when he reportedly paid $57.3 million (£42m) in an off-market deal for this home in Malibu. West, who in August officially changed his name to Ye, bought the home through his company, Shore Drive Holdings, which is registered to the same address as his clothing line.

A piece of art
Spread over 3,665 square feet, the concrete bunker is part house, part sculpture and was designed by Tadao Ando. Originally on the market for $75 million (£55m) in 2020, Kanye managed to pay almost $18 million (£13.2m) less than the original asking price. However, for the huge sum, he doesn't get much privacy. Located on a busy street, just feet away from neighbouring homes, it's an unusual purchase for the privacy-loving rapper.
A modernist home
The house is located just 30 minutes away from Kim's Hidden Hills mansion and it fits perfectly into Ye's modernist aesthetic. On the top floor, you'll find the breathtaking master suite. Perfect for Kanye to get some much-needed privacy, it features a lavish bedroom and a rooftop terrace with incredible views out over the calming ocean.
Kanye's LA ranch
Before he snapped up his new Malibu beach house, reports suggested that Kanye had been hiding out at his Los Angeles ranch. The rapper snapped up the home in 2018 for $2.2 million (£1.6m) and in recent years has used it as a base and HQ for his Sunday Service. In 2019, the Calabasas house was also where Kanye tried his hand at affordable housing, building four low-cost domed homes. However, in September of that year, they were torn down as they violated building codes.
The perfect hideout
The main home boasts four bedrooms, rustic decor and a stunning floor-to-ceiling stacked fireplace in the living room. The homey décor is finished off with inlaid hardwood floors, vaulted open-beam ceilings and rows of windows that lead out to the backyard. With the listing pictures showing the interior as it was when Kanye made his purchase, we can only imagine that it has been renovated to match his minimalistic style.
A private retreat
Set on just over one acre of land, there are also two guesthouses on the property, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms overall. Not shown in these images, the notoriously private rapper has also recently made sure to keep trespassers away by putting up a white tarpaulin perimeter.

READ MORE: Kim and Kanye's real estate relationship
In the years before they decided to split, the former power couple had quite the high-profile romance. After becoming friends in 2003, the duo confirmed their relationship in 2012, when they were spotted in public together for the first time in New York City. Let's take a look at how their lives, relationships and living arrangements played out...
Kim and Kanye's first house
In January 2013, they confirmed that they were expecting a baby, with Kanye announcing that Kim was pregnant during a New Year's Eve performance in Atlantic City. Not long after they'd confirmed their pregnancy, the pair purchased this Bel Air mansion for $9 million (£6.6m). Favouring a minimalist interior design, the celebrity couple renovated the property to match their style, and then went on to sell it in 2017 for $17.8 million (£13.1m).
Kim and Kanye's first house
The 9,000-square-foot home is safely located in the guard-gated community of Bel-Air Crest, so it was the perfect retreat from the spotlight for the couple at the start of their relationship. Boasting huge cavernous rooms with chic whitewashed walls, the spacious living room features a concrete-wrapped fireplace and a wall of glass that open up to spectacular views over the Los Angeles skyline.

The minimalist super-luxurious kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a long centre island, while elsewhere there are seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, which would have been perfect for the growing family.

Of course, no Kardashian house is complete without a luxurious backyard – and this is no exception. The long swimming pool sits alongside a sheltered patio with an outside dining table. We can only imagine the many Kardashian dinner parties held here!

Welcoming North West
In June 2013, Kim gave birth to their first child, North West, and shortly after in October Kanye popped the question in a typically lavish gesture when he rented out San Francisco's AT&T baseball stadium and proposed in front of friends and family. The couple eventually married in 2014 in an extravagant ceremony in Italy with 200 guests.

Kim and Kanye’s Hidden Hills mega-mansion
The same year as their lavish wedding, the couple snapped up their Hidden Hills mansion. During filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kanye imposed a filming ban at the house. However over the years, the couple have given us glimpses of the property through social media. Featuring a stark, minimalistic interior, the home has not one, but two kitchens, the second being a staff kitchen that wouldn't look out of place in a restaurant. Kim previously shared this image of the clan having breakfast in the family kitchen, which is fitted out with an enormous walk-in pantry complete with a frozen yoghurt machine.

As minimalist as the house is, with a young family it had to be kid-friendly in some part. “The kids ride their scooters down the hallways and jump around on top of the low Axel tables, which they use as a kind of stage," Kanye told Architectural Digest back in February 2020.
Kim and Kanye's neighbouring home
In October 2019, the duo then splashed out just under $3 million (£2.2m) on a neighbouring country estate. However, this wasn't the first time they'd invested in property surrounding their Hidden Hills mansion. Earlier in 2019, they snapped up another adjoining property in an off-market deal for $2.7 million (£2m), which means they own around seven-and-a-half acres of land surrounding the primary residence too – now also up for grabs in the divorce settlement.

The ranch-style estate is divided into two parts, with a street running through the one-and-a-half acres of land. Situated on one side of the property, the main house is spread out across 3,880 square feet and features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The airy living spaces are open-plan, with wooden vaulted ceilings and huge picture windows.

On the other side of the acreage sits the equestrian facilities, with a four-stall barn, tack and feed rooms and a small, fenced corral. The grounds also encompass a sparkling pool and spa, a landscaped yard and a covered patio with a built-in barbecue terrace.

Complete family
By 2019, the Kardashian-West clan was complete with the birth of Kim and Kanye's fourth child, Psalm, via surrogate. The former couple also celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in a small private ceremony. With a busy life and growing family, it seemed the Kardashian-Wests needed some respite from city life and they headed to Wyoming for a slice of the quiet life.
Kim and Kanye's Wyoming ranch
In September 2019, Kim and Kanye purchased Monster Lake Ranch to add to their already expansive property empire. Following in the footsteps of a number of celebrities who own farms and ranches, the Kimye homestead spans over 4,500 acres, flanked by dramatic mountain ranges and tranquil shorelines.
Kim and Kanye's Wyoming ranch
Currently made up of several lakeside cabins and outbuildings, the ranch was originally listed for $14 million (£10.3m). It's not known how much the duo paid for the property but with a restaurant, saloon, ranch-style event venue, maintenance shop, office building, equestrian facilities and a shooting range, it wouldn't have been cheap.

So what did the pair intend to do with the huge parcel of land? In happier times, they reportedly planned to build a brand new 52,000-square-foot home and two underground garages on the ranch that would have replaced several lakeside cabins. But with their marriage now over, it seems unlikely that the dream home will materialise as Kanye has most recently listed the ranch for sale at $11m (£8m).
Kim and Kanye's second ranch
In November 2019, Kanye bought a second ranch for $14.5 million (£10.7m). Extending their property empire, Bighorn Mountain Ranch sits on over 6,700 acres of land and is located near Greybull, Wyoming, which is known for its stunning landscapes and is around 50 miles away from Kanye's first ranch purchase.

The ranch has 10 cabins dotted around the estate in three different camps, including The Lodge at Bald Ridge, which boasts a cosy log cabin with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. At Bald Ridge there are also three additional smaller cabins that would be perfect for guests or housing their staff.
Kim and Kanye's second ranch
With hiking, skiing, hunting, fishing and climbing, there was plenty to keep the family of six entertained. White Creek also runs through the grounds, and the rolling hills, canyons and trees are perfect for keeping wild stock.

Kim and Kanye's Wyoming retreats
One for sharing on social media, Kim often gave glances inside what appeared to be their idyllic country life. The family were often seen riding horses and earlier in 2020, Kim revealed that they kept 14 Friesian horses on the ranch, which Kanye bought in 2019. They also enjoyed quad biking on the extensive grounds and were often joined by Khloe, Kourtney and their children.

Kim and Kanye's Wyoming retreats
Located in an area known for its scenic and natural beauty, ranch life once seemed to appeal to Kim. In an interview with Vogue Arabia, Kim said: "I see us living on a ranch in Wyoming, occasionally going to Palm Springs and our home in Los Angeles." However, in the wake of their divorce, it now appears that Kanye will likely claim the ranch in the settlement – they're rumoured to be earmarked as sites for his technology, design and innovation epicentre.

Kim and Kanye's Wyoming retreats
After reportedly living separate lives for some time, news that Kim had filed for divorce hit headlines in late February. It was said that Kanye had been hiding out at the Wyoming ranches, but has since snapped up his Malibu pad, while Kim has spent most of her time at her minimalist Hidden Hills mansion. While the split is being reported as amicable, it'll be interesting to see how the pair divide the rest of their plush properties as they negotiate their divorce settlement. Watch this space...
