Donald Trump's extravagant Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach is often in the headlines, but few people know about the Trump family's secret second home right next door to the fabled Florida compound. Finest mansion in Palm Beach
Spread over 10,455 square feet, the single-family home boasts eight bedrooms plus eight full and three half bathrooms. Listed with Premier Estate Properties, the beachfront property offers plenty of luxury features including a library and a wet bar. The waterfront mansion was reportedly owned by a company linked to Donald Trump and his family, called 1125 South Ocean LLC – named after the home's address.
Ties to Trump
Eric Trump served as president and Donald Trump Jr. as vice president for 1125 South Ocean LLC. The company purchased the luxurious home for just shy of $18.3 million (£14.5m) from the ex-president's sister, retired judge Maryanne Trump Barry. At the time of the property deal in 2018, Eric reportedly told Mansion Global in a statement that it was “a great honor to have purchased one of the finest mansions in Palm Beach".

Another white house
1125 S. Ocean Blvd. comprises two separate parcels including the lot for the house and a vacant parcel used as a lawn, immediately south of the main house. In recent years, the home's exterior has been painted entirely white.
Prime real estate
Sitting on just over half an acre of land, the luxury property has access to 194 feet of prime ocean frontage, as well as a luxurious private swimming pool and a number of stunning terraces with panoramic ocean views.

Highly desirable
Regarded as one of the "most desirable oceanfront rentals not only on Palm Beach Island but also anywhere in South Florida" according to the listing, it’s also rarely available for lease. The home's links to the former President must surely increase its appeal.
Luxury housekeeping
Maintenance is handled by the prestigious Mar-a-Lago Club. So should you decide to rent out the Trump residence, you would benefit from housekeeping three times a week, room service and landscaping, not to mention the all important pool and beach maintenance.

Previous rentals
Shortly after the Trump family bought the house in 2018, it appeared as a monthly rental listed for $100,000 (£79k) a month on the Trump International Realty website. In 2019, the rental price was reduced to $81,250 (£64k) and later the same year went down to $65,000 (£51k). The monthly fee has certainly shot up in April 2023 to $195k per month!

Pets (may be) allowed
As with most rental properties, a background check will be conducted on prospective tenants. While Trump himself may not be an animal lover, as the first POTUS in more than 100 years to not own a dog in the White House, pets will be allowed on a case-by-case basis should you want to rent out the ocean front abode with your pooch and/or parrot.

Formal dining with a view
According to the most recent sales listing, the two-story Bermuda-style property was built in 1956 and boasts marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, multiple living areas, a formal dining room and an oceanfront balcony. It's safe to say it will have been extensively remodelled numerous times since it was first built.

A Melania makeover
The latest listing shots show the house after it had a makeover from Melania Trump whose love of pristine white interiors was applied across the board, turning this sunroom into a chic neutral space with panelled walls and cream furniture. The home is being offered totally turnkey, with all the designer furniture, linens, and tableware already in place if you chose to rent.

Another angle of the sunroom shows the open-plan layout and access to the living room and reception area that can be divided by shuttered panels.

Golden touch
The reception room features a grand fireplace and charming views, providing the perfect formal entertaining space. As well as having ties to Trump's sons through their company, the house was also later listed as an asset of the former president in financial disclosure statements released during his time in office.

A luxurious living space
While mostly neutral the decor does offer a touch of patriotic Americana in the form of this stars and stripes wall decoration in a laid-back family room, the only hint at the mansion's famous owner.

Stunning views
The new tenant will have incredible ocean views to show off to their guests through the enormous living room windows. If they're lucky they may even spot some of the area's rich marine life. Dolphins are commonly seen along the shoreline, while humpback whales and rare North Atlantic right whales are occasional visitors too.

A pretty penny
Last week, former President Trump filed his personal financial disclosure report with the Federal Election Commission, which is a requirement for his 2024 presidential bid. In it, he states that the property turns an annual profit of between $1 and $5 million and is worth more than $50 million, according to Bloomberg.

Record-breaking Palm Beach real estate
Palm Beach recorded its record-breaking, highest-priced home sale in February 2021, when a newly built oceanfront megamansion sold for $122.7 million (£97m), according to Mansion Global. Interestingly, the house was built on land once owned by Trump himself. Is there anything he doesn't lay claim to?
A diamond of a property
Meanwhile, an unfinished condo perched on top of the Tiffany's Building in Palm Beach just sold for $18 million (£14.5m). The penthouse comes complete with a private roof deck, infinity edge pool, putting green, lounge area and outdoor bar. Originally placed on the market in 2022 for $24 million, the price was slashed to attract a buyer, probably because it will take $4–5 million to complete, according to developer Todd Michael Glaser, who managed the project. The buyer was car tycoon Terry Taylor, who also owns a $7.5 million (£6 million) condo on – you guessed it – South Ocean Boulevard, a stone's throw from Trump's rental.

Family neighbourhood
The former POTUS also owns two other homes in the neighbourhood while his older sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau owns a property nearby on Woodbridge Road. The Trump family property portfolio is wide-ranging and full of luxury properties, stating back to Donald Trump's father, the property developer Frank Trump. In 2021, it was widely reported that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner dropped $24 million on a neo-classical estate in an exclusive gated community a short hop down the coast. Ivanka's late mother, Ivana Trump, also called South Ocean Boulevard her home, owning a nine bedroom estate there from 1992, before selling it in 2014 for $16.6 million (£13.4m). It most recently changed hands in 2022 for a cool $73 million (£59m).

Exclusive access to the Mar-a-Lago club
The lucky new tenant of this Florida beach house will gain access to Trump's Mar-a-Lago private members' club – if they're approved to join by the committee. The standard initiation fee of $200,000 (£158k) to join will be waived for the newcomer. However, residents are still required to pay yearly membership dues of $14,000 (£11k) and spend a minimum of $2,000 (£1.5k) per annum on food.

Mar-a-Lago privileges
One of the most highly regarded private clubs in the world, according to the website, the Mar-a-Lago Club is an acknowledged landmark in the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to the premiere amenities available to members, you could also enjoy ‘reciprocal privileges’ at 19 Trump Golf properties around the globe.

On the market
Although there haven't been any reports of a potential new tenant, the $10,000 per month price drop might be just what it takes to offload the mysterious mansion.
