Actress, model, author and activist, Pamela Anderson is best known for her role as C.J. Parker on the TV show Baywatch. In the 1990s, she gained fame as a Playboy model and became a pop culture icon.
Her high-profile personal life, including marriages to Tommy Lee and Kid Rock put her firmly in the media's gaze and she continued acting and appearing in reality shows like Dancing With the Stars during the noughties and 2010s.
In 2022, she starred in Pamela's Garden of Eden, one of several home renovation series, and has spoken of her happy life in Canada, after leaving Hollywood a few years ago.
Following a dazzling turn as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway in 2022, the success of her Netflix documentary, Pamela: A Love Story and critical acclaim for her role in The Last Showgirl, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in 2024, Anderson's career has had a late renaissance.
Born in Ladysmith, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the actress bought her childhood home there from her grandparents in the early nineties.
With a busy career and multiple high-profile marriages in Los Angeles, it would take her nearly 30 years to return to her Canadian roots and the seven-acre (2.8 ha) property. She transformed it into a multi-generational haven for herself, her parents and her two sons from her marriage to Tommy Lee.
The process was documented in the Channel 4 series, Pamela Anderson’s Family Home Renovation.
The property comprises not just one, but three properties: The Roadhouse, a former teahouse her grandparents ran back in the 1950s, The Cabin, one of the original nine that were used as holiday rentals and The Boathouse, which is Anderson’s main residence.
Anderson has fond memories of running free in the gardens and wooded areas of the property when she was a child. She wanted to reflect this joy in the design and installed a pretty front porch and kitchen veranda at the Roadhouse.
She also included a rose garden and landscaped the grounds, ensuring no trees were felled in the process. “I remember my grandfather used to say that the trees spoke to him,” recalls Pamela.
Pamela enlisted the talents of Vancouver interior designer Francesca Albertazzi to help her in her task, the results of which are seen here in the “rustic-modern” vibe of The Roadhouse kitchen.
Slowly but surely the long-neglected property was transformed into a forever home. “I felt this place was like a broken heart, which I really had to kind of turn around,” she said.
During the process, she found love again herself, marrying one of the construction team, Dan Hayhurst, her fourth husband, on the property in December 2020. Sadly, it was not to be, and the couple split up within the year.
The Hollywood actress put her stamp on the interiors incorporating vintage details which were a nod to Pamela’s vibrant grandmother. “I believe she is here with us in spirit,” says Pamela.
In one corner an antique display cabinet is filled with vintage crockery and glasses, alongside old photographs of her parents and the work of David Lachapelle, famous for his series of Pamela Anderson nudes. “If you love something, it will work,” said Francesca.
Superstar rapper Drake, known for countless hit singles and awards, is also the executive producer of HBO’s award-winning Euphoria.
With an estimated net worth of CA$354 million ($250m/£200m), the One Dance singer has invested in a string of lavish homes, including his Yolo estate in Hidden Hills, sold for CA$33 million ($23m/£18.5m) in 2022.
After two years on and off the market, he listed his Beverly Hills estate, for rent in January 2025 at CA$354,000 ($250k/£200k) per month.
Despite an ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, the Canadian star is thriving. Just look at the extravagant property he rented in 2017...
After finishing his Boy Meets World tour in 2017, Drake rented this amazing Beverly Hills mansion, before returning to his custom-built estate in Toronto.
In fact, the singer might have been the first person to spend the night here, because it was completed in 2017.
Drake spent a cool CA$14,000 ($10k/£8k) a night on the pad, but when you see all its amazing amenities, you'll understand why...
Positioned in the heart of sought-after 90210, one of America's most exclusive zip codes, the mega-mansion measures 12,500 square feet (3.8k sqm) and boasts everything from a luxe home theatre to a wine bar, and an infinity pool.
Known as Villa Grande Bellezza, the elegant residence also has some stunning living spaces that are perfect for entertaining and relaxing. There's a plush living room, dining room, a luxurious marble-clad kitchen, six bedrooms, and seven bathrooms.
The master suite has to be one of the finest spaces in the whole house. The size of the average city apartment, it comes complete with a sitting area, a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a gorgeous ensuite with a lounge space.
There's even a soaking tub and access to an outdoor balcony with canyon views.
Every single room in the home is overflowing with super-expensive features, such as panelled walls, striking mouldings, parquet floors, columns and French doors.
Outside, the grounds are packed with luxury features and landscaped planting. There's an infinity pool with jaw-dropping views, numerous outdoor lounges, an alfresco kitchen, a bar and a barbecue that's perfect for entertaining.
Sadly, the house is no longer available to rent on Airbnb and it was last on the market for a cool CA$21 million ($15m/£12m) in 2019.
Movie star Ryan Reynolds is known for an array of blockbuster films, including Deadpool and Free Guy. He started his own highly successful liquor business, Aviator Gin, earning himself an estimated CA$213 million ($150m/£128m), and famously bought League One football club Wrexham AFC in 2021 with fellow actor, Rob McElhenney.
Reynolds married fellow actor Blake Lively in 2012 and shares a Colonial-style home in Pound Ridge, outside New York with her and their four children.
The power couple, who found themselves at the centre of a legal battle with It Ends with Us actor Justin Baldoni in early 2025, also have a stylish loft in Tribeca.
The stunning apartment is in paparazzi-proof 443 Greenwich a star-studded building in Tribeca where fellow residents have included Meg Ryan, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lawrence.
The seven-storey building was originally constructed in 1883 as a warehouse for a book bindery company.
It was completely gutted and renovated in 2014 to serve as an exclusive apartment block with condo units, including 45 lofts and eight penthouses. Its most expensive listed at CA$62 million ($44m/£35.1m).
There are few details relating to the couple’s specific apartment, but units range from 2,000 (186 sqm) to 5,000 square feet (464 sqm) and there is a 4,000 square-foot (373 sqm) courtyard in the centre of the building, which was nicknamed the “doughnut hole” by the New York Times.
Many of the windows are arched to maximise natural light, plus there are wood-beamed ceilings and open-floor plans.
The apartment clearly proves quite handy for the couple when they are needed in town to attend one of their many glamorous engagements.
Reynolds rarely shares images of the interior of the building, but his wife Blake Lively has been known to strike a pose from time to time.
In this image she shows off her fabulous figure just ten months after giving birth to the couple’s fourth child, in the master suite with its hardwood floors and rustic dividing walls between the bedroom and the ensuite bathroom.
In another post she shares an image of herself in a multi-coloured Dauphinette dress in front of a vivid blue dresser.
The exposed brick wall is a perfect backdrop for a stunning floral painting by Sage Vaughn, while a vintage rug looks effortlessly stylish atop the hardwood floor. “It’s not ever lost on me that I get to play dress up for a living,” says Lively.
At the age of just 13, Justin Bieber was discovered by talent agent Scooter Braun, who stumbled across the singer's videos on YouTube.
Fast-forward 14 years and Bieber is now one of the world's biggest stars, with a reported net worth of CA$404 million ($300m/£241m) and six studio albums under his belt.
Married to model Hailey Bieber, who gave birth to their first child Jack Blues in August 2024, the pair divide their time between Canada and Los Angeles. Here's a peek at their first home as a married couple...
After confirming they had married in a courthouse wedding in September 2018, Justin Bieber finally settled on this relatively modest home with now-wife Hailey Baldwin, daughter of actor Alec Baldwin.
The couple bought the cosy home, which sits on a quiet street in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, in November 2019 for CA$12 million ($8.5m/£6.8m).
The beautiful home was built in 1932 but has undergone extensive renovations to make into the modern masterpiece it is today.
Spread over 6,000 square feet (557 sqm), the home features a split-level living space.
The sleek kitchen is complete with white oak cabinets and a marble-topped island, while the sliding floor-to-ceiling doors in the living space fill the space with light and lead outside to the beautiful grounds.
Re-done in 2017 with the help of production designer Charles Infante, the home evokes classic California glamour. It has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the stunning master suite boasting soaring ceilings, a fireplace and a custom wardrobe.
There are also two separate living spaces, a home office, theatre, wine cellar and even a bar.
Despite the home's many attributes, which include an infinity pool and a cosy cabana space with a fireplace and barbecue in the backyard, the star seemed to change his mind about the house just a few months after moving in.
The singer offered it up for sale on his Instagram in October 2019, posting 13 photos of the mansion with the caption “I think I wanna sell my home in Beverly Hills who wants it?”.
Failing to secure a buyer, he put it on the market in October 2020 and it sold for just under CA$11.3 million ($8m/£6.4m), at a loss of CAA$773,000 ($545k/£441k). They included all the furniture in the sale.
While she will be forever known as the devil-may-care Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, Kim Cattrall made her name in the 80s in films such as Porky’s, Police Academy and Mannequin, as well as in a host of theatre roles.
Born in Liverpool, England, she moved with her family to Canada as a baby and holds British, American and Canadian citizenship. She also briefly dated former Canadian premier Pierre Trudeau, the father of Justin Trudeau, the current Prime Minister of Canada.
Although synonymous with the streets of New York, the natural habitat of her character Samantha, Kim Cattrall is happiest at her waterfront home on Vancouver Island.
Having grown up on the island, the actress bought a home there in 2014, keen to recreate her childhood idyl.
“I never imagined moving back here full time so it was a surprise to find myself wanting to buy a home here,” she told House & Home.
“I went for a walk and saw two eagles perched up high on a Douglas Fir. You can’t find that in New York City. And that’s what keeps bringing me back. I feel like I am rediscovering where I came from. It has been a lovely home coming.”
Having sold her beach house in the Hamptons, the actress decided it was high time to go back to her roots. “When I sat here, I thought, ‘This feels right,’ she says.
The décor is a departure from the sophisticated elegance of her Manhattan apartment. Cattrall has created a cosy environment with open fires and rustic materials to reflect the landscape outside, where she spends her time hiking and enjoying nature with her family and friends.
Many of her First Nations decorative pieces around the home, the masks and carvings, are from a reservation in the Comox Valley. “They represent the culture here,” she says.
“I did quite a bit of renovation, slowly,” she explains.” I painted the entire inside and outside of the house. The former owner had painted the interior very dark and moody colours, but I wanted to reflect the bright light of my surroundings, so I used lighter colours.”
She took the photographs above the sofa herself, and found Cornelius, the moose head, above the fireplace in a shop in Toronto called Door Store.
“The fur on his nose was getting a bit of wear from people stroking it, so I thought, ‘I think it’s time he had a home!’ Whenever I see him, he makes me smile.”
Her favourite spot is at the top of the house, in what Cattrall calls the Eagle’s Nest, where she has installed two very comfortable chairs and a neutral palette which lets the view take centre stage.
“Every ten minutes it’s changing,” she says. “Not just the weather, but the wildlife, the birds and the otters that come by. It’s part of being in British Colombia and of being on Vancouver Island.
They live here like I do. People say when you grow up somewhere you can’t go home again… but I think you can.”
One of the most successful musicians of all time, Celine Dion has been in the spotlight since 1981, releasing her first single at the tender age of 12.
More than four decades later and the singer has too many Grammy Awards and Official Top 40 singles to count, gaining herself a purported CA$1 billion ($800m/£645m) bank account in the process.
She closed the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, her first performance since she announced her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022.
January 2025 saw the London premiere of the musical Titanique, an homage to Dion, which imagines if the singer had been on board the tragic ocean liner. With her incredible earnings, the 'My Heart Will Go On' singer built one seriously unusual celebrity home.
The singer purchased the almost-six-acre (2.4 ha) estate, which lies in Florida's exclusive Jupiter Island, back in early 2008 for just over CA$10 million ($7m/£5.7m) and commissioned a sprawling, Bahamian-inspired mansion with her late husband, René Angélil.
It took two years to build and was completed in 2010. Not your average celebrity home, the property is sprawling and brimming with one-of-a-kind amenities, including a private water park...
The couple designed the 20,000-square-foot (1,858 sqm) property as their dream vacation home, a place where they could go as a family to escape the paparazzi.
Yet it's anything but low-key. The lavish holiday home is made up of the main home, plus five separate pavilions, and comes with 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, gorgeous formal living spaces and more than 400 feet (122m) of beach frontage.
As well as some seriously luxurious living spaces, the beautiful beach house also boasts a tennis court, a golf range simulator, and a beachside cabana with a massage room.
Plus, check out the singer's stunning master suite. With endless glass, a vaulted ceiling, a bed big enough for three, a huge walk-in closet and a luxe bathroom, it's the ultimate VIP sanctuary. But that isn't nearly all.
The mega-mansion also has three geothermal-heated swimming pools, numerous guest houses and a commercial-grade water park with countless pools and slides, which Dion's three children no doubt loved when they were young.
Despite its beauty and lavish features, the house proved unsellable.
After four years on the market and several price reductions, it finally sold in 2017 for CA$40 million ($28m/£22.7k). That's a huge drop from the original listing price of CA$102 million ($72m/£58m).
The biggest-selling female country artist of all time, Shania Twain dominated the international charts from the mid-90s to the early noughties with hits singles such as 'Man! I Feel Like a Woman!' and 'That Don't Impress Me Much'.
Today, the Canadian singer-songwriter is thought to be worth a cool CA$567 million ($400m/£322m), which is more than the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger.
The star played the coveted Legends spot at Glastonbury in 2024 and concluded her third Las Vegas residency in February 2025. Although she owns a farm nearby, she will no doubt be heading back to her lakeside home in Switzerland for a good rest.
Shania Twain’s permanent home is a lakeside property in the town of Corseaux, overlooking Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
While the singer prizes her privacy, she posts occasional images of herself and her husband Frédéric Thiébaud on the deck of their villa by the fire pit or in the gardens, with stunning views of the lake beyond.
The couple fell in love after the Swiss businessman informed Shania that her husband, Robert Lange, had been having an affair with his wife. Bonding over their shared heartache, they married on a beach in Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day in 2011.
Intimate posts like this one reveal a tasteful décor of cosy neutral furnishings where her beloved dogs can relax as comfortably as their owners.
Also displayed are equestrian artworks referencing her passion for horse riding. She credits her husband for giving her the confidence to return to music, telling People in 2012: “I cannot live without him. He keeps it all in perspective.”
A central feature of her living room in Geneva is her piano, where she can be seen here, with her acoustic guitar and a fluffy rug beneath to add warmth.
According to Swiss celebrity magazine L’Illustré, the singer helped design the wrought iron double entrance doors with their foliage motif, which allow the light to flood into the open-plan living room.
Behind her is a portrait of Claude Nobs, the founder of Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival.
We caught a lovely glimpse of the star’s relaxed kitchen when she posted an image of herself there wishing her fans a ‘Merry Christmas from snowy Switzerland”.
The country singer, who’s a vegetarian, enjoys cooking and once demonstrated her skills on the Today show when she made a vegetarian mushroom Bolognese with chef Eric Ripert.
Her favourite thing to cook however, is chocolate cake. We couldn't agree more with this choice.
As a teenager, Jim Carrey worked as a janitor to support his family, but the Toronto-born actor never looked back after he moved to Hollywood aged 19.
Hitting the big time in the mid-90s in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber and The Mask, the actor went on to earn a Golden Globe for his performance in The Truman Show, before donning his furry green suit in How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Once estimated to be worth around CA$425 million ($300m/£241m), he announced his retirement in March 2022 when he was promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 2 but returned to the red carpet in December 2024 for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, commenting, “I need the money, frankly.”
He’s had his pick of luxury homes, but strangely struggled to sell one he owned for more than three decades. When he listed his LA ‘sanctuary’ mansion in February 2023 for a staggering CA$50 million ($28.9m/£22.3m), it had little interest.
Carrey bought the ranch-style estate in 1994 for CA$5.3 million, around CA$11 million ($8m/£6.5m) in today's money, around the time of the release of his first major movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
According to reports, the actor describes the 12,704-square-foot (1,118 sqm) property as “a place of enchantment and inspiration.”
In the main living areas, pitched, beamed ceilings with skylights and swathes of French doors allow natural light to flow through the space.
The neutral, contemporary interiors are dotted with eye-catching paintings and statues, many of them Carrey’s own work.
Elsewhere, are mementos from his life in film, including his Riddler costume from Batman Forever, which is displayed in the bar area.
The incredible screening room is state-of-the-art, with a perspex box showcasing Carrey's costume from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Sumptuous armchairs and sofas provide a comfortable setting in which to kick back and enjoy the show.
Outside, the massive two-acre (8,093 sqm) grounds are a rarity in LA and include a tennis court, a waterfall swimming pool, a pool house and bar, a sauna, vegetable gardens and numerous mature trees.
No wonder the actor said he liked to lie in the bed of his master bedroom, with its own sitting room and balcony, listening to the birds outside. “Every night the owls sang me lullabies and every morning I sipped my cup of joe with the hawks and hummingbirds, under a giant grandfather pine,” he said.
Two months after putting his home on the market, Carey cut the price to a still impressive CA$37 million ($26.5m/£21.3m), reducing it seven months later to CA$34 million ($24m/£19.2m).
The house was relisted in May 2024 for CA$31 million ($22m/£17.6m), before finally selling in the December for CA$28 million ($19.8m/£15.9m). It was still the most expensive home sale that week, says reports, despite its price cut.
The world lost its favourite Friend when Matthew Perry died aged 54 on 28 October 2023 at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
The actor found his way into the hearts of millions playing the role of wisecracking Chandler Bing, but had shunned the limelight, writing a memoir entitled Friends, Lovers and The Big Terrible Thing, that dealt with his mental health and addiction issues.
Born in Massachusetts, he moved to Ottawa as an infant when his parents separated. His mother Suzanne was a Canadian journalist, who served as a press secretary to Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, and Perry attended elementary school with his son Justin Trudeau.
The star owned several homes in Los Angeles over the years, including this so-called “mansion in the sky”, a mammoth 9,318 square-foot (866 sqm) penthouse, with staggering views across the glittering LA skyline.
Taking up the entire 40th floor of a ritzy condo complex known as The Century, the property comes with a communal 75-foot (23m) swimming pool, plus a yoga studio
Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects in 2010, The Century has been a celebrity hot spot with owners such as Paula Abdul and Denzel Washington.
Modern and minimalist, cascades of windows offer a spectacular bird's eye view of the city, while polished wood flooring and velvet furnishings create a sophisticated space to unwind.
The luxurious condo has a total of four bedrooms, eight bathrooms and four terraces, so there was more than enough room to host friends in style.
The streamlined kitchen features sleek white cabinetry, marble countertops and an array of high-end appliances.
Framed by pendant lights, the breakfast bar is the perfect spot to grab a quick meal, while the more formal glass-walled dining room offers a wow-factor space to throw dinner parties against the breathtaking LA skyline.
The actor hired architect Scott Joyce and interior designer L.M. Pagano to transform the interior according to his tastes, and the condo came with its own plush screening room and even a 'Bat Cave', which at the time displayed an impressive collection of memorabilia inspired by Perry’s favourite superhero.
After nearly two years on the market, Perry sold the penthouse in July 2021 for a reported CA$31 million ($21.6m/£17.3m).
