Kim and Kanye's relationship breakdown timeline
Having married in 2014 at a Renaissance fort in Florence, Italy, Kimye went from strength to strength as a power couple of Calabasas and beyond—with four children and a plethora of palatial properties under their belt. However, the infamous duo separated in early 2021, with Kim filing for divorce that February. The reality star declared it wasn’t "one specific thing that happened on either part" which led to the divorce according to a special reunion episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Kim and Kanye's divorce settlement details
An amicable split was on the cards—so rarely seen in celebrity world—until Kanye began lashing out at Kim’s new partner, Pete Davidson, who she has since split from, and the Kardashian family on social media. According to reports of court documents filed in Los Angeles, Kimye finally reached a settlement in their divorce just weeks before a trial was set to take place in December 2022. According to Sky, with a prenuptial agreement in place, neither divorcee will pay spousal support and each will pay their own debts. Kanye’s 'Gold Digger' 'prenup' lyrics are ringing in our heads.

Kim and Kanye's kids
With their official divorce paperwork reportedly citing "irreconcilable differences", West is set to pay Kardashian $200,000 (£163k) a month in child support while they split the cost of their children's security, private education and university between them. The parents will share joint custody of all four children—North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three. Kim continues to live in the $60 million (£49m) Hidden Hills estate with the kids (more on that later). But it isn't all peaceful negotiations in Yeezy world…

Kanye's public breakdowns
While the former billionaire has often cut a controversial figure, West’s recent extremism—including sporting the 'White Lives Matter' slogan on a T-shirt and recently declaring "I like Hitler" in an Alex Jones interview—has seen designer brands such as Adidas and other large corporations immediately cutting ties with the rapper. Ye declared that he lost $2 billion (£1.6bn) overnight after a video went viral of him spouting antisemitic views, and Adidas dropped the fashion designer’s Yeezy range. According to Forbes, the deal with Adidas accounted for $1.5 billion (£1.2bn) of his net worth.

No peace for Kim
After filing for divorce and moving on with new boyfriend, Pete Davidson, although the couple has since split, Kim was plagued by Kanye’s angry outbursts which were regularly publicised through his social media accounts. Venting his frustration at Kim's parenting decisions—such as North being allowed a TikTok account, and claiming he wasn’t invited to their kids’ birthday parties—Ye soon turned to publicly attacking her new partner Pete. Kim reportedly branded his attacks "hurtful", accusing him of making co-parenting "impossible every step of the way”.

Ye for President?
Most recently, Ye has announced he will be running in the 2024 US presidential election, after a recent unsuccessful trip to Mar-a-Lago—with white nationalist Nick Fuentes—to ask Donald Trump to be his running mate. Who knows if he will get further than he did in the 2020 elections, where reportedly a lack of valid signatures and a series of missed deadlines saw the rapper only making it to the presidential ballot in a small number of states.
Hidden Hills mega-mansion for Kim
During the divorce negotiations, Kim stayed in the couple's Hidden Hills mega-mansion which she won sole possession of in the settlement. The pair splashed out $20 million (£16.3m) on the sprawling estate in 2014, spending an additional $20 million (£16.3m) on extensive renovations to meet Kanye's minimal aesthetic. The renovations took three years, and the family finally moved out of Kris Jenner's home, which was conveniently located across the street, into their newly renovated property in December 2017.

$60 million asset
Set on over three acres of land, the overhauled estate features incredible vineyards, mature trees and expansive lawns. According to Realtor, Kim was said to own all the land that the house sits on, while Kanye owned the structure itself. Valued at around $60 million (£49m), it's a sizable asset that Kim now owns outright. Described by Kanye as a 'futuristic monastery', the former couple worked with Belgian architect Axel Vervoodt on the renovated home's new design.

Kim Kardashian's other homes
The property sits in close proximity to the homes of both her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Reports at the time suggested Kim wanted to stay in the home to prevent her four children from suffering any stress during the divorce, with Kanye in favour of the new living arrangements. Following the settlement, Kim also reportedly got to keep the house next door that Kanye bought in 2019 plus homes in Malibu and an Idaho property.
Kanye's Calabasas ranch
While Kim was with their children in the Hidden Hills mega-mansion, reports suggest that Kanye was hiding out at his Los Angeles ranch, which he gets to keep in the property split. The rapper snapped up the home in 2018 for $2.2 million (£1.8m) and in recent years has used it as a base and HQ for his Sunday Service. In 2019, the Calabasas house was also where Kanye tried his hand at affordable housing, building four low-cost domed homes. However, in September of that year, they were torn down as they violated building codes.
A bachelor pad
The perfect bachelor pad, soon after Kim filed for divorce, Ye stayed in the home after a birthday trip to France with Irina Shayk in June 2021. The main home boasts four bedrooms, rustic décor and a stunning floor-to-ceiling stacked fireplace in the living room. With the listing pictures showing the interior as it was when Kanye made his purchase, we can only imagine that it has been renovated to match his minimalistic style. Set on just over one acre of land, there are also two guesthouses on the property, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms overall.
Kanye's Wyoming ranches
Kanye also claimed their two sprawling Wyoming ranches in the settlement—the first purchased in September 2019 for an unknown price and with both rumoured to be earmarked as sites for his technology, design and innovation epicentre. After attempting to sell up, it appears Ye has taken the sprawling ranch off the market post-divorce. Following the settlement, Kanye reportedly still owns an apartment in Belgium, his Chicago childhood house, 300 spare acres in Calabasas and of course his own Hidden Hills mansion. Here's hoping the controversy and headlines can settle down now they've reached a settlement with their much-anticipated divorce.

In the years before they decided to split, the former power couple had quite the high-profile romance. After becoming friends in 2003, the duo confirmed their relationship in 2012, when they were spotted in public together for the first time in New York City. Let's take a look at how their lives, relationships and living arrangements played out...
Kim and Kanye's first house
In January 2013, they confirmed that they were expecting a baby, with Kanye announcing that Kim was pregnant during a New Year's Eve performance in Atlantic City. Not long after they'd confirmed their pregnancy, the pair purchased this Bel Air mansion for $9 million (£7.3m). Favouring a minimalist interior design, the celebrity couple renovated the property to match their style, and then went on to sell it in 2017 for $17.8 million (£14.5m).
Kim and Kanye's first house
The 9,000-square-foot home is safely located in the guard-gated community of Bel-Air Crest, so it was the perfect retreat from the spotlight for the couple at the start of their relationship. Boasting huge cavernous rooms with chic whitewashed walls, the spacious living room features a concrete-wrapped fireplace and a wall of glass that open up to spectacular views over the Los Angeles skyline.
Kim and Kanye's first house
The minimalist super-luxurious kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a long centre island, while elsewhere there are seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, which would have been perfect for the growing family.

Of course, no Kardashian house is complete without a luxurious backyard—and this is no exception. The long swimming pool sits alongside a sheltered patio with an outside dining table. We can only imagine the many Kardashian dinner parties held here!

Welcoming North West
In June 2013, Kim gave birth to their first child, North West, and shortly after in October Kanye popped the question in a typically lavish gesture when he rented out San Francisco's AT&T baseball stadium and proposed in front of friends and family. The couple eventually married in 2014 in an extravagant ceremony in Italy with 200 guests.

Kim and Kanye’s Hidden Hills mega-mansion
The same year as their lavish wedding, the couple snapped up their Hidden Hills mansion (more on that above). During filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kanye imposed a filming ban at the house. However, over the years, the couple have given us glimpses of the property through social media. Featuring a stark, minimalistic interior, the home has not one, but two kitchens, the second being a staff kitchen that wouldn't look out of place in a restaurant. Kim previously shared this image of the clan having breakfast in the family kitchen, which is fitted out with an enormous walk-in pantry complete with a frozen yoghurt machine.

Kim and Kanye’s Hidden Hills mega-mansion
As minimalist as the house is, with a young family it had to be kid-friendly in some part. “The kids ride their scooters down the hallways and jump around on top of the low Axel tables, which they use as a kind of stage," Kanye told Architectural Digest back in February 2020.
Kim's Calabasas condo
After splashing out on this 2,260-square-foot condo for $1.6 million (£1.3m) in 2017, the then-happy couple set to work giving this Calabasas property a minimalist makeover. West commissioned Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen to create a neutral, monastery-esque aesthetic throughout as a birthday present for Kim.
Kim's Calabasas condo
With its mix of clean lines, natural materials and rustic, exposed plaster walls, the stark three-bedroom property is the height of brutalist design—but perhaps not to everyone’s taste. Kim put the minimalist condo on the market in 2020 to little interest, before re-listing the Calabasas home in September 2022 for the same price at $3.5 million (£2.9m).
Kim and Kanye's neighbouring home
In October 2019, the couple then splashed out just under $3 million (£2.4m) on a neighbouring property to their Hidden Hills country estate. However, this wasn't the first time they'd invested in property surrounding their Hidden Hills mansion. Earlier in 2019, they snapped up another adjoining property in an off-market deal for $2.7 million (£2.2m), which means they own around seven-and-a-half acres of land surrounding the primary residence too—and according to reports surrounding the divorce settlement, Kanye signed it over to Kim.
Kim and Kanye's neighbouring home
Hitting the market in September 2022, Kim listed this former Kimye residence for $5.3 million (£4.3m). The ranch-style estate is divided into two parts, with a street running through the one-and-a-half acres of land. Situated on one side of the property, the main house is spread out across 3,880 square feet and features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The airy living spaces are open-plan, with wooden vaulted ceilings and huge picture windows.

On the other side of the acreage sits the equestrian facilities, with a four-stall barn, tack and feed rooms and a small, fenced corral. The grounds also encompass a sparkling pool and spa, a landscaped yard and a covered patio with a built-in barbecue terrace.

Complete family
By 2019, the Kardashian-West clan was complete with the birth of Kim and Kanye's fourth child, Psalm, via surrogate. The former couple also celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in a small private ceremony. With a busy life and growing family, it seemed the Kardashian-Wests needed some respite from city life and they headed to Wyoming for a slice of the quiet life.
Kim and Kanye's Wyoming ranch
In September 2019, Kim and Kanye purchased Monster Lake Ranch to add to their already expansive property empire. Following in the footsteps of a number of celebrities who own farms and ranches, the Kimye homestead spans over 4,500 acres, flanked by dramatic mountain ranges and tranquil shorelines.
Kim and Kanye's Wyoming ranch
Currently made up of several lakeside cabins and outbuildings, the ranch was originally listed for $14 million (£11.4m). It's not known how much the duo paid for the property but with a restaurant, saloon, ranch-style event venue, maintenance shop, office building, equestrian facilities and a shooting range, it wouldn't have been cheap.
Kim and Kanye's Wyoming ranch
So what did the pair intend to do with the huge parcel of land? In happier times, they reportedly planned to build a brand new 52,000-square-foot home and two underground garages on the ranch that would have replaced several lakeside cabins. But with their marriage now over, and with Kanye keeping hold of the ranch estates in the settlement, we wonder what Kanye has in mind for the plot?
Kim and Kanye's second ranch
In November 2019, Kanye bought a second ranch for $14.5 million (£11.8m). Extending their property empire, Bighorn Mountain Ranch sits on over 6,700 acres of land and is located near Greybull, Wyoming, which is known for its stunning landscapes and is around 50 miles away from Kanye's first ranch purchase.

The ranch has 10 cabins dotted around the estate in three different camps, including The Lodge at Bald Ridge, which boasts a cosy log cabin with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. At Bald Ridge there are also three additional smaller cabins that would be perfect for guests or housing their staff.
Kim and Kanye's second ranch
With hiking, skiing, hunting, fishing and climbing, there was plenty to keep the family of six entertained. White Creek also runs through the grounds, and the rolling hills, canyons and trees are perfect for keeping wild stock.

Kim and Kanye's Wyoming retreats
One for sharing on social media, Kim often gave glances inside what appeared to be their idyllic country life. The family were often seen riding horses and earlier in 2020, Kim revealed that they kept 14 Friesian horses on the ranch, which Kanye bought in 2019.

Kanye West's concrete Malibu bunker
After Kim filed for divorce, in September 2021, the record producer splashed out $57.3 million (£47m) for this concrete home in an off-market deal. The Malibu residence was reportedly purchased through his company, Shore Drive Holdings.

The three-storey home was built by art dealer, Richard Sachs in 2003 and designed by award-winning architect Tadao Ando. Ye’s 3,665-square-foot designer pad boasts a top floor owner’s suite and rooftop terrace with ocean views. Let’s hope Kim’s beach house isn’t within sight.
Kanye's Hidden Hills house next door
Post split, West then went on to splash out on the house across the street from the family's Hidden Hills home—snapping up this mid-century, single-storey estate built in 1955. Spending $4.5 million (£3.7m) on the four-bedroom home in December 2021, Ye paid $421,000 (£343k) over the asking price just 19 days after it hit the market.
Kanye's Hidden Hills house next door
According to early reports, there were suggestions that West was giving his ex-wife the Hidden Hills home in the divorce settlement, but it now appears he's keeping it. The neighbouring property is said to need extensive renovation works, so it may be a tear-down job.
Kim Kardashian's buffer home
In between her original mega-mansion and the newly acquired Hidden Hills next-door fixer upper, Kim purchased this so-called ‘buffer home’ in a bid to create space between herself and Ye after their initial split. Purchasing the property for $6.3 million (£5.1m) in May 2022, Kim put the buffer back on the market less than four months later. Priced at $7 million (£5.7m), she is hoping to make a profitable $700k (£571k) on her investment.
Kim's Malibu beach house
Once belonging to supermodel Cindy Crawford, this attractive Malibu beach house was next on the list for Kim K’s property collection. The Skims mogul laid out $70.4 million (£57.4m) for the seaside residence in an off-market deal in September 2022. Built in 1994, the four-bedroom Mediterranean-style villa boasts a full-sized tennis court, access to a secluded beach and celebrity neighbours including Leo DiCaprio and Neil Diamond! Reportedly, it's also near Kanye's Malibu beach house...

What's next for the family?
Shown here at their ranch during happier times, while divorce is always a sad occasion, we hope the high-profile pair can find peace and continue to co-parent in their respective homes, now their divorce has been finalised and a settlement reached.
