The tallest skyscraper in the American Deep South on its completion in 1929, the Sterick Building in downtown Memphis was like a city within a city during its heyday, featuring everything from retail stores, offices and a gourmet restaurant to a bank, barber shop and even a Secret Service outpost.
Sadly, the architectural masterpiece has stood abandoned for almost 40 years, but now promising development plans are heralding a fresh start for the iconic building.
