NBA star Shaquille O'Neal has put his Bell Canyon home in Ventura County, California, on the market for $2.5 million (£1.9m). The sports star has acquired an impressive property portfolio over the years, having bought the Mediterranean-style, five-bedroom, five-bathroom home around a year ago for $1.8 million (£1.4m). Nestled into the sloping hillside, the mansion sits in around one acre of land and is secured behind a private gate.

Spread over two floors, the 5,200-square-foot home was built in 1990. The double-height entrance leads through to the large living room which features beamed, vaulted ceilings, a white brick fireplace and views out across the canyons and beyond. Elsewhere, the family kitchen offers luxury marble countertops and state-of-the-art built-in appliances.

Upstairs the chic celebrity master bedroom suite features two walk-in-wardrobes, a mosaic-tiled fireplace and an ensuite bathroom with a hot tub and rain shower. It also has its own private balcony and enough room for a small sitting area in the bay window. Painted in a charcoal grey, the room is bathed in natural light and makes the ideal retreat to kick back and relax in. 

The outdoor living space is just as luxurious as the interior and features a lagoon-style pool and hot tub, a seating area complete with a built-in barbeque and beautifully manicured lawns.

Welsh-born director Sir Anthony Hopkins has put his estate in Malibu, California, on the market for $11.5 million (£8.9m). The Oscar-winner has owned the property in Point Dume since 2001 when he bought it for $3.8 million (£2.9m). The traditional-style home is hidden away behind gates on a bluff above Zuma Beach, one of the most popular stretches of sand in Los Angeles. 

Spread over two-storeys, the home was built in 1958 and offers panoramic views over the ocean. With 4,000 square feet of space, it offers five bedrooms and five bathrooms overall, as well as spacious living areas, all of which come with beautifully framed views of the coastline.

The Cape Cod home features a traditional kitchen with a stone floor that leads out to the vast deck. There's also a one-bedroom private guest house as well as an additional pool house that offers access to the pool and a barbeque area – the perfect spot for entertaining.

The back of the house opens up to numerous curved decks that step down onto the lush lawn, stretching out to the bluff's edge. Sadly there isn't private access to the beach below, but we reckon those views more than make up for that.

Hollywood couple Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have put their beautiful eco-home in the mountains of Topanga in California on the market for $3.2 million (£2.5m). The couple bought the gated home just over five years ago for $2.4 million (£1.9m), but are now set to part ways with the property, which sits in three acres of land. 

Spread across two storeys, the home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms in just over 4,300 square feet of space. The entrance to the living room is framed by two concrete posts and a terracotta-tiled floor. It leads through to the main space, featuring a corner fireplace and wooden ceiling beams, while floor-to-ceiling windows capture views out over the surrounding vistas.

The master bedroom is located on the top floor and features more floor-to-ceiling windows, a cosy fireplace and a shaded terrace – the perfect place to enjoy those rugged panoramas. The suite includes a bath set into the bay window, which is just a few steps away from the ensuite bathroom.

Outside, the home is surrounded by landscaped gardens that include a vegetable patch and a variety of fruit trees. An artificially grassed area features a fire pit and spa, while the property also has solar panels, a tankless water heater and a back-up generator – serious eco-credentials!

While his long-term home is in Malibu, musician Kenny G also owns a more understated dwelling in Los Angeles's celebrity property hotspot Studio City. Now on the market for $3.5 million (£2.7m), the saxophonist purchased the home in 2007 for $2.9 million (£2.3m) and has tried to shift it a few times, first in 2018 and again in 2019. 

Located at the end of a long driveway, the private property is hidden from the street and offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Inside, the 4,000-square-foot interior features an open-plan living and dining space with glossy hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves and a grand fireplace. Two sets of French doors lead out to the idyllic garden, which includes a waterfall and small lap pool sheltered by tropical plants.

The all-white, country-style kitchen features a huge skylight that illuminates the space, as well as a central island and state-of-the-art appliances – everything a budding chef needs. The kitchen leads through to a second smaller living space complete with a characterful rustic stone fireplace.

The property's master bedroom has access to a huge deck as well as an ensuite bathroom, a sauna and a walk-in-wardrobe with an attached dressing room. If that wasn't enough, the house also features a putting green, a recording studio in the guesthouse and a private office.

Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda has put his mansion in the Beverly Hills Post Office area of Los Angeles on the market for $9.5 million (£7.4m). The musician acquired the huge home in 2008 for $7.4 million (£5.7m) so he's set to make just over $2 million (£1.5m) in profit if he gets his asking price. The gated hillside retreat sits at the end of a private cul-de-sac and has just about everything a star could ask for.

With seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms across 7,700 square feet of space, the entrance features a double-height rounded foyer with a grand curved staircase. This leads through to the grand living room, complete with a marble fireplace and an arched doorway that opens out to the swimming pool. Just next door is the formal dining room which features a decadent, gold brocade wallpaper.

Each of the generous guest bedrooms includes an ensuite bathroom, while the master bedroom offers a sitting area with a fireplace and a large private terrace. It also has a walk-in wardrobe with a curved wall of mirrors and a marble-floored bathroom – the ultimate in luxury. 

Outside, the grounds include a planted courtyard with a koi pond, a dining loggia with a built-in barbeque, as well as a swimming pool and hot tub surrounded by white mosaic tiles. Nearby community amenities include tennis courts, a dance studio and a children's playground, so you'll never tire of ways to while away the time.

Actor Christopher Lloyd has put his coastal cottage in Ventura County, California, on the market for $3 million (£2.3m). Sitting on the shores of Faria Beach, the home was bought by Lloyd just a year and a half ago for a touch under $2.2 million (£1.7m). Sold fully furnished, the cute pint-sized property offers plush accommodation encompassing two bedrooms and two bathrooms. 

Inside, the open-plan living space and dining room have been decorated with bright white walls, pale wood floors and a raised fireplace flanked by built-in shelving. Natural light pours in through the skylights, while the French doors in the dining area lead out to the spacious deck.

The master bedroom stays faithful to the home's charming coastal theme with nautical touches and a rustic wooden headboard. Offering views out over the ocean, the luxurious space includes an ensuite bathroom with marble countertops. On the top floor, the loft has been set up as a reading lounge – the perfect quiet spot to get lost in a book.

Accessed through the dining room, the expansive deck is the ideal space for alfresco dining and socialising. The chilled area features a cosy built-in firepit and private access to the beach via concrete steps.

Jon Bon Jovi has put his palatial French-inspired mansion in New Jersey on the market for a reported $20 million (£15.5m). Located on the banks of the Navesink River, the rock star's home was designed by New York architect Robert A.M. Stern and sits on a huge 15 acres of land. Named High Point Estate for its breathtaking views over the water, it also includes 700 feet of private river frontage. 

The property is made up of an 18,000-square-foot home, plus a three-bedroom carriage house, a barn, music studio and stables. The elaborate design of the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom main residence spares no expense. Inside, the main living room features a marble fireplace and an adjoining bar area. The classic French-style interior is full of regal touches including wall panelling and parquet floors.

The traditional-style kitchen features a brick-barreled ceiling with hand-painted beams, wooden floors and a large island sitting in the centre. The second floor is made up of two wings, one with four ensuite bedrooms including the master suite, and the other with two bedrooms, a bathroom and an extra kitchen, making it the ideal space for visitors.

Elsewhere on the estate, there's a dock with a boat lift, seven double-door garages, two cabanas, plus an oversized swimming pool which is situated in the centre of the Renaissance-inspired gardens.

Singer Demi Lovato has put her Los Angeles mansion on the market for $9 million (£7m). The singer first listed the luxury home in September 2018 for $9.5 million (£7.4m), after buying it in 2016 for $8.3 million (£6.4m). Having failed to shift it, she then decided to put the star-studded home up for rent at a huge $39,500 (£30.7k) a month. 

The super-luxury four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home sits on over an acre of land behind private gates. As well as a casual downstairs living space that backs out onto the garden, the home also has an upper floor which has been made into a 'party level' with a bar, media room and huge terrace.

The chef's kitchen is the stuff of culinary dreams. Decked out in white with marble countertops and hints of stainless steel, the design complements the clean neutral decor that runs through the rest of the house.
