What's not to love about a classic A-frame tiny cabin? This sleek design is part of the SOLO series from kit home aficionados Avrame. With floor plans ranging from 141 to 247 square feet, these snug retreats can accommodate up to four people. Offering worldwide shipping, you'll need to lay your own foundation prior to construction, however, Avrame says that two people with reasonable experience should be able to build the kit cabin themselves. You can also purchase separate kits to add to the main structure, including an interiors package with doors, panelling and framing, plus a selection of exterior finishes that range from French doors to Velux skylights.

Floor plan options vary from a single-room layout, encompassing a kitchenette and sleeping zone, to a more spacious design complete with a kitchen-diner and a separate bedroom. As with any outbuildings you decide to add to your property, it's always a good idea to consult your local planning authority to see if consent is required.
