With countries across the globe in varying stages of lockdown, many of us are trying to find ways to keep ourselves busy, and it appears celebrities are no different. From tackling long-awaited DIY tasks to setting up home offices and keeping in contact with friends, take a look at how these famous faces are curbing isolation boredom in their lavish homes.

The eldest of the Kardashian sisters, Kourtney, is spending lockdown in her Calabasas mansion, which she bought in 2014. The mum of three is with her daughter Penelope and sons, Reign and Mason in the huge 12,000 square-foot property. 

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who isn't the only one in the family with a property empire, isn't shy of sharing her stylish lockdown life with her followers. Her youngest son Reign, spent one morning cooking up a storm in the sleek country-style kitchen. The young family will never struggle with boredom with a home cinema, spa, sauna and sports court to keep them all entertained. 

The reality star has also turned her stylish sprawling mansion into her very own private catwalk. Donning an emerald Roberto Cavalli frock, Kourtney posed in front of her piano and even stood in front of the hob cooking up a storm in another shot. 

Talk show host, Ellen Degeneres has been hiding out in her Balinese-inspired, £22 million ($27m) mansion in Montecito, California. Trying to keep busy, the star has been keeping in contact with her famous friends, including Adam Levine and Justin Timberlake.

The ultimate property flipper, Ellen has also set herself up a home studio so that she can upload episodes of her talk show to YouTube. Filming in her living room, which she says has the best light and sound, her executive producer Andy Lassner is on hand at all time, standing just outside to practice social distancing. 

Keeping Ellen company is her wife, Portia de Rossi, who has been teaching herself to cook in the couple's lavish kitchen. After suffering cuts and burns, the actress claims it has been an eye-opening experience. Who wouldn't love to cook up a storm in the designer kitchen complete with a wine fridge, huge cooker and a centre island that doubles up as a breakfast bar?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, has encouraged his fans to self-isolate as coronavirus sweeps the globe, but not without a little light-hearted relief. The actor is sharing his home with two rather unusual pets, a miniature horse named Whisky and a donkey, Lulu.

Not one to rest on his laurels, the 72-year-old actor has been finding ways to keep up his fitness levels. He drove his vintage army truck to a serene beauty spot near his Malibu home and completed a dumbbell workout in the fresh air.

He has also donated $1 million to a campaign for a Frontline Responders Fund and encouraged his fans to stay at home as much as possible. We can't imagine it's all that hard when you can spend the day relaxing in your hot tub.

David and Victoria Beckham have escaped from their west London pad and have been self-isolating with their children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper at their luxury home in the Cotswolds. Sharing everyday life with their followers the couple have celebrated both their birthdays while in lockdown. 

The stunning Grade II-listed Cotswold retreat, that the family bought in 2016, has been converted into a sprawling mansion – the ideal retreat from a pandemic. With huge grounds, it's the perfect place for a social distancing bike ride.

The family have been doing their best to keep fit during lockdown with David filming his runs and Victoria sharing a sneak peek of their home gym. There's a tennis court within the grounds, were David and Romeo enjoyed playing a competitive game of Teqball.

Hollywood star, Gwyneth Paltrow is holed up with her husband Brad Falchuk and her two teenage children, Apple, 16 and Moses, 15. The family have been spending the majority of their time cooking in the kitchen, with the children helping out.

Gwyneth has also given a glimpse into her home office décor. While working from home, the lifestyle guru has been posting videos on goop's YouTube channel, using the spacious room as her background. It features a wall-to-ceiling bookcase as well as a black-framed fireplace with a wicker chair, plush sofas and a wooden coffee table. 

The star has also been venturing out and about, and at the end of March visited her local farmers' market for fresh food. However, she didn't go without all the precautions and opted for a face covering and gloves for the trip.

Spending her time in lockdown in her New York City penthouse with her twins and boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, Mariah Carey is sharing more glimpses than ever before into her private life. At the beginning of March, the star uploaded a video of her and her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, washing their hands in a lavish gold sink.

The star also shared a number of pictures from her country-style kitchen. Standing in front of her stove holding a kettle in each hand, the singer also cooked up a storm for her children in another picture.

Giving an insight into her workout room, Mariah donned some gloves, sunglasses and a glittery top in true diva style, for a quick workout. She, of course, kept her disinfectant within arm's reach too. 

Many of us have been hitting up the kitchen while stuck at home, and Natalie Portman is no exception. The actress whipped up some strawberry and mint ice lollies in her glamorous kitchen, which comes complete with sleek cabinetry and plenty of natural light.

The Hollywood star also signed up to an Instagram live initiative started by Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner called Save With stories, where celebrities read bedtime stories and appeal for donations to Save the Children and No Kid Hungry.

All the cooking and reading must be tiring work, as the star settled down for a nap on a rainbow-striped blanket with her dog.

Riding out the pandemic in her Montecito estate, just one of many multimillion-dollar residences that the megastar owns, Oprah has found herself taking on multiple household tasks usually done by her staff. She's been cooking without her personal chef Raymond Weber and has used recipes from the likes of Jamie Oliver. 

The 66-year-old talk show host and her longtime partner, Stedman Graham have been joined by Sade and Thando, who graduated from Oprah's Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, and who she sees as daughters. Spending time together, the group have been delving into the world of arts and crafts.

She is estimated to be worth billions, but even Oprah found herself changing her own bed as she hunkered down amid the pandemic. Like most of us, she could be seen struggling with the task of putting her duvet into its cover in a video she uploaded.

Sarah Jessica Parker is spending her lockdown in her townhouse in Greenwich Village, New York, with her husband Matthew Broderick and their three children, James Wilkie, 17, and 10-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha. The Sex and the City actress has also been catching up with friends from her doorstep, including Andy Cohen (pictured).

Life as a mum of three hasn't slowed down for the actress and she has shared several videos of her home life in the Big Apple. Just like many celebrities, she has resulted to mundane chores to pass the time, including doing laundry and organising her children's clutter. 

With home projects and DIY hitting an all-time high during the pandemic, Sarah has also been getting creative and had a go at fixing her wobbly cabinet door. 

Selena Gomez, who is reportedly isolating with her grandparents and dogs, including new pup Daisy, joined the viral #safehands challenge on Instagram at the end of March, giving a sneak peek into her glamorous kitchen.

Making the most of her time indoors, the star is also in the midst of producing her very own quarantine themed cooking show for HBO, which is set to be released this summer.

With all that going on, we'd think she might fancy a break, but in fact, the star has set up a small recording studio in her home to work on new music. The star shared this picture which shows her sitting on the floor, next to her furry slippers with a professional microphone and insulated walls.

After escaping Beverly Hills, relocating to a beachside home in Malibu for the lockdown, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been sharing every aspect of their hectic lives at home. Known for her cooking, model Chrissy has spent a lot of time in the kitchen with her children Luna and Miles, and her mum Vilailuck, who is staying with the family. 

The cookbook author also shared a funny snap on Instagram with her daughter Luna, in the family's home gym. Decked out with all the equipment, including a Pilates machine and dumbbells, the star made sure to let her followers know she only worked out for five minutes.

With beauty regimes going out the window, Chrissy decided to learn a new skill and treat her mum to a manicure. Lounging on a comfy sofa with blankets, the star didn't share close-ups of the finished product as in her words: 'It ain't pretty'.
