As the second-richest self-made woman in music, there's no doubt that Taylor Swift is one of the world's most successful solo artists. Her current 'Eras' tour has broken records for the highest-attended female concert in US history. In fact, the tour's sell-out success has helped to officially make Swift a billionaire.

It's official, Taylor Swift is in her billionaire era. The news first broke on 26 October in a report by Bloomberg, with the singer's net worth pegged at a lofty $1.1 billion (£888k). The figure comprises over $500 million (£404m) derived from touring and royalties, a $500 million (£404m) music catalogue and around $125 million (£100m) in real estate assets, according to Forbes. 

Swift's current 'Eras' tour was a staggering boon to her fortune. Pollstar has estimated that ticket sales could reach $1.4 billion (£1.1bn), which would make it the first-ever tour to gross over $1 billion (£807k). The concert's recently released film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, raked in an enormous $123.5 million (£99.5m) in its opening weekend alone. Swift is the first musician to cross the billionaire threshold based solely on her music and performances, Forbes reported. 

Meanwhile, the superstar has been making headlines in her personal life too...

Somehow, despite her hectic tour schedule, Taylor has managed to make space for romance in her life. After much secrecy and media surmising, Taylor recently stepped out with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and things appear to be heating up for the pair.

Not only has Taylor become a regular feature at Chiefs games, cheering Kelce on from the box seats, but recent real estate movements suggest the two are getting serious... 

It has recently been confirmed that Kelce splashed out $6 million (£4.8m) on a Kansas City mansion, where the pair can enjoy a bit more privacy. According to TMZ's sources, Kelce's old house was far too accessible and was "starting to become a tourist attraction". 

The couple will be able to enjoy a waterfall, mini golf course and swimming pool without needing to leave the seclusion of the property, which sits nestled within a gated community. While this might seem like a big investment for Kelce, the NFL star’s $14 million (£11.3m) annual salary and $57 million (£46m) four-year deal will certainly ease the strain!

From country girl to global pop star, Taylor Swift has come a long way. But where did her rise to the top begin?

Taylor spent her formative years on a Christmas tree farm in Cumru Township, Pennsylvania, before the Swift family moved 15 minutes away to this five-bedroom home in Wyomissing, just outside the city of Reading.

Her interest in music began when she was nine years old. The ambitious youngster performed in Berks Youth Theatre Academy productions, while also travelling to New York City regularly for vocal and acting lessons.

The high ceilings of the 3,560-square-foot Georgian Colonial home would have provided great acoustics for the budding star, who had learned to play the guitar by the age of 12 and was performing at weekend festivals and events.

The young star-to-be was given an artist development deal at just 13 years old, after performing original songs at an RCA Records showcase.

The suburban residence was Swift's childhood home until she was 14, when the family moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee so that she could pursue her career in music. 

On the market for just under $1 million (£807k) in March 2022, Taylor’s former family home has undergone extensive interior and exterior renovations and is now decked out with the latest home technologies, as well as plenty of marble and granite. Could this have been the singer-songwriter's childhood bedroom? 

Taylor's jump onto the property ladder happened in Nashville, Tennessee, where she launched her country music career with her first eponymous album in 2006.

After 'You Belong with Me' from her second album, Fearless, soared to number three in the charts, Taylor purchased her first property in 2009 when she was just 20 years old. Bought for nearly $2 million (£1.6m), the budding star picked up a 3,240-square-foot condo right in the heart of Nashville's Music Row as her first home.

The star reportedly designed the interior for the apartment herself, which sits in the luxury Adelicia building, and described her style as 'whimsically girlie'.

These images show another apartment in the high-end building, but Taylor's place would have had the same floor-to-ceiling windows with skyline views of midtown Nashville and a state-of-the-art kitchen for the home-loving singer to cook up a storm. 

Located close to the recording studios and music producers she was working with at the time, the apartment was a perfect starter home for the fledgling star. More recent mages of the apartment show it as a neutral, spacious unit, but we're sure that Swift put her own stamp on it during her tenure.

The corner unit penthouse has three bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms as well as a balcony for Taylor to enjoy her morning coffee.

She also would have had access to the super-swanky amenities of the Adelicia complex, which include an Olympic-sized heated lap pool, a fitness centre with an on-site personal trainer and a private park. 

With the release of her 2010 album Speak Now, Taylor's music career went stratospheric. The six-time platinum album was more than successful enough to enable Taylor to buy a gorgeous old house in the celebrity hotspot of Beverly Hills.

Secured behind gates and a long driveway, the almost one-and-a-half-acre home has a sports court within the private grounds and plenty of trees to keep nosey fans at bay.

Purchased in 2011 by the star for $3.6 million (£2.9m), the 2,800-square-foot clapboard-sided home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Inside, the cosy living room features a grand fireplace, a built-in TV unit and plenty of traditional-style fittings – the perfect place for some downtime following her album release.

A pretty down-to-earth pad for one of the biggest stars in the world, there's also a modest kitchen, a formal living room on the lower floor and French doors throughout which lead to outdoor living areas. Upstairs, the master bedroom includes dual sinks in the ensuite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. 

A separate guesthouse attached to a two-car garage offers an extra bedroom and bathroom, plus an open-plan living and dining space with a fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen. In 2018, the star sold up for $4 million (£3.2m) in an off-market deal. 

2011 was a busy time in real estate purchases for the singer. She bought this 5,000-square-foot Greek Revival-style mansion in June for her parents, Andrea and Scott. Sitting on almost six acres of land, the awe-inspiring property is known as Northumberland Estate. 

Located in the elite suburb of Forest Hills, home to glamorous celebrity neighbours such as Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, it cost the singer $2.5 million (£2m) and has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The home also boasts a spacious guest house, which covers 2,000 square feet and looks out over the swimming pool. 

To this day, Swift still owns the palatial property, though it's not clear who resides there. The grand house is awash with period details across its numerous elegant sitting rooms, plus French doors that lead out to the resort-style pool area.

In 2012, when Taylor released her fourth album Red, which sold 1.2 million copies in the first week of release, she bought this magnificent mid-century modern home in Los Angeles for $1.8 million (£1.5m). The wonderfully retro property was a change in architectural style for the star. 

The sleek, modern home dates back to 1959 and has all the clean lines and retro appeal of that hallowed era. The dreamy living and dining rooms take in views of the leafy backyard and feature no end of heritage features. According to the LA Times, it was reportedly used as a place for Taylor to host guests while she lived in another Beverly Hills residence.

The single-storey house would have been a delightful LA base for the star's visitors; it features four bedrooms and five bathrooms over 2,950 square feet – more than enough space to accommodate a family. Among the period features are beamed ceilings, extensive glass walls and a 1,000-bottle climate-controlled wine cellar. 

The leafy back garden features a lagoon-style swimming pool, while decking and a central courtyard create additional living space outside. Swift sold the home in 2018 for $2.7 million (£2.2m), making a nice profit from the sale. 

By 2013, Taylor's music career had exploded with multiple Grammys, People's Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards and Entertainer of the Year Awards. All the while, her real estate portfolio was continuing to grow with the addition of this breathtaking beach home. 

In search of somewhere to stay on the East Coast, the singer purchased this 11,000-square-foot beach mansion on Rhode Island's Watch Hill for $17.8 million (£14.4m). Swift reportedly paid for the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in cash – now that's what we call flash!

Known as the house where Swift held parties with her 'girl squad', especially her famous 4 July celebrations, it's the ideal property for entertaining, with an eight-seater dining table that looks out over the lush surroundings.

The star was also spotted frolicking in the surf just outside the house with her then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, who she dated in 2016. 

The mansion overlooks 700 feet of shoreline with views of Block Island Sound and Montauk Point. A dream vacation home, it's the perfect pad for the busy star to get away from it all and unwind in the fresh sea air with friends and family.

Once home to socialite Rebekah Harkness, the mansion's history even inspired the song 'The Last Great American Dynasty' on Swift's eighth studio album Folklore, released in the summer of 2020.

By February 2014, Taylor had her sights set on the trendy neighbourhood of Tribeca in New York. Taylor Swift's Big Apple empire began back in February 2014, when the singer snapped up not one but two mind-blowing penthouses. The sprawling properties set the singer back just under $20 million (£16.4m). 

Swift's new real estate investment was purchased from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, who put the pair of duplex penthouses on the market for a hefty multimillion-dollar price tag.

Following the sale, Swift merged the two separate condos into one huge city pad, moving out into a rented apartment in the West Village while work was undertaken. 

With a total of 8,300 square feet, the apartments have a combined offering of nine bathrooms and nine bedrooms with private wraparound terraces that add an extra 6,000 square feet to their already vast floor plans. 

Key features include the 12-foot-high beamed ceilings, wide plank wood floors and exposed brick – you have to admit, Taylor's got style!

Framed by exposed beams, the stylish marble kitchen exudes charm. We can just imagine Taylor whipping up home-cooked meals for her famous friends in this polished space. Complete with a plush private lift, the guarded penthouse is the ultimate spot for the superstar to live the high life. 

Shifting her gaze to LA, the singer went on to buy another Cape Cod-inspired home in 2015, expanding her celebrity property portfolio even further. Swift purchased this seven-bedroom home in Los Angeles from legendary Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn’s family for $25 million (£20.2m).

In 2018, she applied for and won landmark status for the estate, ensuring that the home will never be significantly changed or demolished.

Old Hollywood glamour can be seen throughout the home, evident in the grand sweeping staircase and curved walls in the hallway. Swift is the first person to own the home outside of the Goldwyn family, whose legendary parties once included the likes of Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin. 

The rustic mansion features plenty of luxury amenities including a cinema room, library, card room, gym, swimming pool and tennis court, as well as a private apartment for overnight guests.

Taylor is a huge fan of traditional Americana interior design and decked out the home with a combination of vintage furnishings and contemporary art pieces.

Outside, the large pool is flanked by a covered patio area for soaking up the sunshine. Swift and her architect reportedly carried out exterior renovations in 2016, a process that included restoring wooden decorative elements such as lattice panels and wooden finials. The pool cabana was also purportedly restored to its original 1934 design. 

This adorable converted carriage house in New York City's glamorous West Village was Taylor's dream rental back in 2016 while she was renovating her Tribeca penthouses. Located on Cornelia Street, the 21-foot-wide brownstone set the singer back $39,500 (£32k) a month, but with its double-height ceilings, hardwood floors, three fireplaces and spectacular city views, this historic home was well worth it.

Taylor loved the property so much that she even wrote a song about it – 'Cornelia Street', which featured on her 2019 album Lover.

The 5,500-square-foot space dates back to 1870 and has four bedrooms and seven bathrooms. While it was recently renovated, old blends seamlessly with new.

There's an array of modern features throughout the home, such as the spectacular chef's kitchen, Lalique light fixtures and industrial-inspired floor-to-ceiling glass windows that flood the home with natural light. When the sun goes down, the dining room also boasts an ornate Murano chandelier that illuminates the space. 

The converted carriage house was bought by luxury Italian furniture firm Zanotta in 2019 for $11.5 million (£9.3m) and reimagined as an immersive show space for some of the company's finest pieces. The property functioned as a 'by appointment only' VIP shopping experience that allowed customers to 'step inside the mind of the brand' and even stay the night in the historic building.

However, the property hit the market at the end of May 2023 for just under $18 million (£14.5m). It's since been listed as a rental for the princely sum of $45,000 (£36k) per month, and it appears to have been rented out. 

Given its age, the historic building has of course seen many renovations throughout its life. The pool level, for instance, is a modern addition complete with soaring 27-foot ceilings and a basalt stone floor. The 30-foot-long swimming pool sits adjacent to a lounge area, while double doors open out onto an exterior patio. Elsewhere, there's even more outside space in the form of a beautiful rooftop terrace framed by a metal gable structure.

Following Taylor’s break-up from English actor Joe Alwyn in early 2023, the street became something of a pilgrimage spot for her fans, with the location even referred to as "Cornelia Street aka Taylor Swift Ave" on Instagram.

In 2017, just before releasing her album Reputation, Swift decided to add to her New York City empire, purchasing this townhouse for $18 million (£14.5m). Handily, the star's two Tribeca penthouses are located in the adjacent building.

A tactical buy, sources say Swift converted the townhouse into a private entrance and indoor garage for her neighbouring homes, allowing her to bypass the apartment building's public entrance. The townhouse became a gateway to Swift's biggest combined real estate investment to date – a sprawling multi-storey compound measuring more than 16,000 square feet. Quite some feat in the space-starved Big Apple!

The 5,000-square-foot townhouse includes four-bedroom and four-and-a-half bathrooms across its three floors. It also features a host of luxury amenities ranging from a movie theatre, heated floors and a gym to a rainfall steam shower and a limestone jet bathtub. 

Yet, while it may look idyllic, the home has a rather dark history. French politician and former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn was placed under house arrest at the lavish property in 2011 while under criminal investigation. During his confinement, he rented the property for $50,000 (£40k) a month. Strauss-Kahn was accused of sexually assaulting a hotel employee – while the criminal case collapsed, a settlement was later reached in a separate civil lawsuit. 

Despite its controversial past tenant, there's no denying that this is one of the most desirable homes in Tribeca. Measuring just 27 feet wide, the residence's multi-floor layout makes up for its narrow proportions. The top level hosts the property's master bedroom, which features wide-plank oak flooring, walk-in wardrobes and a wet bar. The home faces out onto an idyllic cobblestone street and features custom lighting and speakers throughout.

Swift reportedly began dating English actor Joe Alwyn around a year after splashing out on the townhouse, so the former couple likely spent time together in the city bolthole.  

The pad also has a separate guest suite on the first floor with its own entrance, ideal for hosting famous friends and family.

Up on the roof, there's an extremely coveted outdoor terrace, complete with a Japanese paper glass wall and a state-of-the-art barbeque. Outside space is a rarity in the Big Apple, and the sequestered rooftop yard was no doubt a big draw for the singer. But Swift's Tribeca shopping spree didn't stop there...

Taylor went on to purchase yet another condo in the same building as her penthouses in February 2018. The latest addition to her mega-compound, Swift bought the apartment from financier Jeremy Phillips for just under $9.8 million (£7.9m) in an off-market deal. This brings her total spend on the same New York City block to an eye-watering $48 million (£38.7m).

With three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, the industrial-style loft offers 3,540 square feet of space. High-beamed ceilings, cast-iron columns, brick walls and huge oak-framed windows impart no end of character. It certainly feels like a restful retreat for the singer, ideal for kicking back and unwinding after a hectic world tour. 

The open chef's kitchen has a restaurant-style stove, an extensive pantry, custom cabinetry and a large granite island. The sleek bar area is the perfect sociable spot for Taylor to entertain her New York friends before a lavish dinner party. Look familiar? The apartment's aesthetic isn't miles away from Taylor's penthouses in the building. 

Following numerous renovations, it's thought that all four of the star's properties have now been combined into a vast residence. The spaces' cohesive interiors must have made merging the numerous units all the easier.

While Swift may have carved out a private retreat at a distance from the bustling Big Apple, the compound made headlines in January 2022 when a car crashed into the apartment building. The driver, who was allegedly drunk, reportedly tried to gain entry to the complex but was unsuccessful. Reports at the time said that the driver told officers he would not leave until he met Swift, however, a police spokesperson could not confirm this account.

It's no surprise then that the singer takes her privacy at the compound extremely seriously – she's even gone so far as to remove the townhouse from Google Earth. 

In a real act of generosity, Taylor opened up her Big Apple compound to Sophie Turner in September, allowing the actor to stay at the property while she navigates her still-fresh divorce from Joe Jonas. That month, a legal filing asserted that Turner and Jonas’s children must remain in the Eastern and Southern districts of New York City while the couple continued to negotiate their future plans. However, a subsequent filing made on 10 October lifted that ban, allowing Turner to temporarily return to England with their children. A custody hearing is scheduled for 2 January 2024 in Manhattan. 

Nevertheless, Turner will no doubt be grateful for a friendly sanctuary in the city during such a turbulent time. Swift and Turner have been spotted at dinner together in the wake of the divorce, and the actress has even joined Swift in the VIP box at numerous Chiefs games. 

Swift has had a busy few years, with the launch of her sell-out 'Eras' tour in March 2023, along with numerous album releases and re-releases. In fact, she became the first female artist to have four albums in the US Top 10 at once in July 2023.
