Amid divorce woes, Kevin Costner appears to still be looking to rent out his 160-acre Colorado retreat for a jaw-dropping $36,000 (£29k) a night. The New York Post reported that this isn't the first time the Golden Globe winner has made the home available to lease, last marketing it back in 2021. The venue for the couple's 2004 wedding, Dunbar Ranch, at the property is known, and boasts 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and nearly 6,000 square feet of living space, making it the perfect remote retreat for a wedding party or family reunion. A multi award-winning actor and action hero, Kevin Costner is also no stranger to the rancher lifestyle, having purchased the Aspen property back in 2000 and developed it into its current state from the ground up. In an interesting case of life imitating art, Costner currently stars as John Dutton in the critically acclaimed Paramount series Yellowstone, now in its fifth season, though rumours are circulating that the star, 68, may be looking to retire from the role following an alleged feud with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
However, Costner’s previous commitment to the role has evidently taken a toll on his personal life. As reported by The Daily Mail, Costner’s wife, model Christine Baumgartner, has filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences". Baumgartner supposedly issued Costner with an ultimatum to quit Yellowstone to prioritise their family, which consists of three children aged 12 to 15. While the couple have agreed on joint custody, with a pre-nuptial agreement in place, it remains to be seen what Christine will receive as part of the divorce, and how assets like their property portfolio will be divided. As well as this luxurious remote ranch, the family's primary residence is in Ventura, California, and Costner reportedly has a number of other real estate investments, including apartments in Los Angeles.
While Costner may be comfortable playing a lone ranger on television, Dunbar Ranch is a far cry from anything the early American pioneers would have known. The exquisite estate, is the height of luxury, boasting three separate residences, a river house, a village house and the main house, it is capable of comfortably sleeping a total of up to 27 people. The homes’ interiors blend traditional ranch aesthetics with Tudor-inspired architectural details, including soaring cathedral ceilings, exposed beams, river rock accent walls, and plenty of cosy fireplaces.
With so much space in which to spread out, the home is ideally suited for hosting private events and getaways. The Dunbar’s website even lists a ‘menu’ of other luxury features that can be added to the rental, which include but are not limited to such extravagances as chefs, ski instructors, ski butlers, personal trainers, yoga instructors, masseuses, and hair and nails specialists. You can even book a Christmas tree delivery, decorator, and Santa Claus for the holidays!
The property also boasts spectacular outdoor facilities. In addition to the natural beauty and resources offered by the surrounding North Star Nature Preserve and Aspen Mountain, the ranch also offers its own private amenities, including three hot tubs, a baseball field, a private lake, a sledding hill, a pool, and numerous decks and patios for lounging and dining.
Yet, though seemingly isolated in the shelter of the mountains, the ranch is a mere 10 minutes from downtown Aspen, granting easy access to shops and restaurants. With an unbeatable location, we certainly wouldn't say no to a stay here! We wonder what the future holds for the dreamy estate, which was once at the centre of the star's family and married life...

The best way to keep fans and paparazzi away from your front door? Pick a far-flung location with plenty of land. Hidden away from prying eyes, these secluded properties offer the ultimate privacy for their A-list residents. From Joe Cocker's mountain-view ranch to Hayden Christensen's forest cabin and Lenny Kravitz' Brazilian farmhouse, click or scroll on and let's take a look around the remote homes of the rich and famous...
The mastermind and gritty voice behind huge hits such as 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' and 'Unchain My Heart', Joe Cocker was born in Sheffield, England. While his musical career catapulted him into the spotlight, the British rockstar decided to up sticks and retreat into the Colorado mountains in 1994 – staying in the bespoke 316-acre estate until his death 20 years later in 2014.
Taking inspiration from his travels around Europe with his wife Pam, the pair commissioned this Tudor-style home framed by formal English gardens in rural Colorado. Known as Mad Dog Ranch, the mega-mansion spans almost 16,000 square feet and offers 15 bedrooms in total. Now on the market again – after being sold at auction for $3.9 million (£3.1m) in 2017 – the former rock royalty’s remote home could be all yours for $18 million (£14.4m). Someone is banking on a huge profit.
A magnificent marble-clad 33-foot turreted foyer welcomes you upon entry, complete with Medieval-esque arched doors, candlelight sconces and grand hanging chandeliers. With a covetable location, just two hours from the Aspen ski slopes, Cocker is said to have originally built the home as a winter retreat but decided to stay permanently after enjoying his first stay there.
Mad Dog Ranch, named after the singer’s nickname and 1970 album Mad Dogs & Englishmen, boasts seven guest suites, 10 full bathrooms across its three floors, alongside a billiard room, library and chef’s kitchen to keep everyone well-fed and entertained. While the manor appears grand and castle-like, the interiors are plush, warm and inviting. What's more, the manor is being sold as furnished according to Mansion Global, which means the lucky new owner will inherit Cocker’s grand piano and historic snooker table that once belonged to King Edward VII to boot.
This sprawling property also boasts a recirculating creek, which runs into the ranch’s pond, hosting storied oak trees complete with hanging chairs. There are also horse stables and two amusement park-sized water slides. Hosting spectacular Colorado views from its own canyon, Joe Cocker’s former retreat is a masterclass in rural living.
Used to the spacious surrounds of rolling Vancouver landscapes and the far-flung reaches of outer space, this Canadian Star Wars actor is another fan of a remote home. Hayden Christensen is perhaps most famous for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels, but his love of farming is said to be the reason for his sporadic absences from the acting world throughout his career. With a ranch of his own near Toronto to tend to, he recently went on to snap up a rustic retreat in rural California…
Nestled in the secluded San Gabriel Mountains of Altadena, this three-bedroom cedar cabin recently came on the market at $2.2 million (£1.8m). Christensen decided to fend off a bidding war by offering $500,000 (£401k) over the asking price, according to records, bringing the grand total to almost $2.7 million (£2.2m). Let's take a look around...
Originally built in 1982, architect and previous owner William Hunter renovated the 1,900-square-foot getaway into this picture of cosiness. Hygge-esque furnishings feature throughout the single-storey structure, where natural tones and tactile textures complement the cedar wood-clad cabin.
We bet the Canadian actor loves waking up to these views, where the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest trees wave from beyond huge landscape-framed windows. The Californian sun warms the wooden framework, creating a beautifully rich glow throughout.
Hayden can truly relax in his remote paradise, boasting a gourmet kitchen, breakfast nook and even a dining table with a ping-pong setup. Alongside stunning grounds spanning a quarter of an acre, complete with native plants and a wood-burning Japanese cedar soaking tub, you’ll also find a separate treehouse ideal for forest-loving guests or to use as an office for line learning.
Double Platinum album holder, Lenny Kravitz was born in the hustle and bustle of New York City before pursuing a glittering career in music over the last forty years. Worth an impressive $90 million (£72.1m), the jet-setting 'Fly Away' singer has homes in Paris and the Bahamas. But it wasn’t until he visited Brazil almost twenty years ago that he reportedly decided to move there permanently, a far cry from his NYC origins…
Upon viewing an 18th-century coffee plantation near Rio de Janeiro, the 'Are You Gonna Go My Way' hitmaker declared: “I’m done with the hustle and the bustle. I’m going to be a farmer,” according to Architectural Digest. The Portuguese colonial-style farmhouse compound sits on a humongous 1,000 acres and takes some walking around for a proper tour.
Alongside winning Grammys and scoring movies, the hitmaker also set up a home interiors company in 2003 named Kravitz Design Inc. The rocker's style merges retro chic with globally-inspired design, showcasing plush tactile furnishings with exposed, natural elements and crisp, clean lines.
The 'American Woman' singer’s Brazilian farm may be far from his US roots, but it seems he feels right at home in the Rio countryside. Kravitz turned his one-day trip into six months, where he “learned to ride horses from the cowboys, learned about farming, and reconnected with nature” he tells Architectural Digest. It was just two years later, in 2007, when he snapped up the 100-acre estate.
Alongside his large, open-plan main house, the Brazilian plantation boasts multiple outhouses, which he has converted into guest houses, a football field and a huge swimming pool seen here. The ultimate in remote residences, Kravitz’s expansive ranch has no mobile reception –perfect for those wanting to really unplug and unwind.
Singin' in the Rain star and Hollywood royalty, the late Debbie Reynolds spent many special and happy family occasions at her Freedom Farms family estate in California, with joint-owner film producer and director son Todd Fisher, as well as her famous daughter, the late, great Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher.
According to Mansion Global, the sprawling 44-acre estate has been on and off the market since 2017 when Reynolds passed away aged 84, one day after her daughter Carrie passed away aged 60. It recently graced the listing pages once again and sold in December 2022 for just shy of $2.9 million (£2.4m). With seven bedrooms and 7,800 square-foot of living space, the ranch’s main house was certainly large enough for many a celebrity get-together, with one listing stating, “the family compound was [the] site of hundreds of gatherings, sing-alongs and served as a tranquil retreat for Hollywood’s elite”.
This particular remote home is nestled within its own private valley, in the midst of San Luis Obispo, an ‘undiscovered’ city in California’s Central Coast region surrounded by sunny coastline, wineries and oak tree-dotted hillsides. The Freedom Farm grounds are home to native deer, its own lake and hot springs alongside accompanying water rights, geothermal heat and solar power.
Inside the sprawling estate, you’ll find plentiful Hollywood glamour, from high ceilings to a grand piano and even a private screening room, where the famed family would enjoy settling down to watch "a 5,000-movie library of Hollywood classics together” according to the listing.
What’s more, the rural ranch also boasts an additional 17,000 square feet of space via two outbuildings, which play host to sound and recording studios. Perfect for a talented family of Hollywood royalty, this retreat is ideal for those in the entertainment industry or fans of sustainable living alike. How's that for rural living?
From Disney star to chart-topping pop and rock star, Tennessee-born singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has come a long way in her career. With an impressive property portfolio under her belt, the star still returns to her country roots when she needs to relax and unwind away from the limelight.
This fabulous farmhouse was among one of Miley’s real estate gems. Tucked away in her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, the rural retreat is far away from the spotlight of Hollywood, offering a stunning retreat where the star could recharge and recoup.
Spread over 33 acres, the amazing estate is the perfect hideaway, positioned on an elevated plot overlooking dense woodlands. Extremely isolated, the private home features a gated entrance and a long, sweeping driveway shrouded in trees.
Inside, the farmhouse is every bit as stunning as you'd imagine. Spread over two floors, it has 6,689 square feet of accommodation, encompassing five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The living spaces are an eclectic blend of old and new with a mix of contemporary touches and classic country details, while outside, wraparound verandas offer the perfect spot to admire the secluded surroundings.
Reports of the 'Wrecking Ball' singer's farmhouse purchase hit headlines back in 2017, with the star splashing $5.8 million (£4.7m) on the property. The beautiful estate also comes with a three-car garage, an outdoor swimming pool and elevator access to each floor – hardly a fixer-upper ranch! Despite all of this, Miley sold the sprawling Franklin ranch for $14.5 million (£11.6m) in August 2022 to Dairy Queen mogul, Matt Frauenshuh according to Dirt.
Country music icon Kenny Chesney has recorded a whopping 20 albums and has more than 23 number one hits under his belt. With all that success, it's no surprise that the American singer-songwriter chose a pretty spectacular remote spot to hang his hat, far away from the public eye.
Chesney purchased this stunning mansion in the wilds of Franklin, Tennessee back in 2009 for $9.2 million (£7.4m), according to TMZ. The 12,600-square-foot home resides 40 minutes south of Nashville and sits atop 56 acres of scenic, forested land.
However, Chesney waved goodbye last year to the home known as Bella Luce, which is Italian for ‘beautiful light’. Originally listed at $14 million (£11.2m) in August 2021, the palatial Tennessee estate sold in December 2021 for $11.5 million (£9.2m).
The stunning Mediterranean-style villa has been kitted out with beautiful features such as floors made from 150-year-old reclaimed walnut, Venetian plaster walls, exposed beams hand-carved from cedar and Douglas fir wood, and stunning limestone fireplaces.
A wealth of entertaining amenities await inside the hilltop estate, such as this cosy home cinema and a state-of-the-art gym that no doubt helped Chesney stay in shape between tours. Outside, there's an infinity pool and spa for relaxing and unwinding after months on the road. We're sure the new owner will never get bored of hunkering down here.
Born in Massachusetts, American businessman and politician Michael Bloomberg is reportedly worth a whopping $74.5 billion (£60.2bn). We’re sure he can afford his own remote island, never mind home. So where does he live now?
In May 2020, the billionaire businessman and former New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg, purchased this reclusive ranch in rural Colorado, USA. Following his failed presidential campaign in the same year, which reportedly cost him more than $1 billion (£812m) suggests Business Insider, we're sure Bloomberg spent time here, away from the media spotlight.
The sprawling 4,600-acre ranch can be found just under an hour from Aspen and set Bloomberg back an estimated $44.8 million (£35.9m) –and for good reason. Known as Westlands, the estate comes with a 19,000-square-foot main house, a four-hole golf course, a swimming pool, tennis court, guest cabins and staff quarters, as well as a helipad and hangar, so that Bloomberg can make a speedy escape.
The fly-in home dates back to 1991 and boasts an expansive interior with towering ceilings and plenty of characterful design touches, such as exposed timber beams, stone fireplaces and elaborate antler chandeliers. The main house comes with five bedrooms, a wine cellar, a movie theatre and indoor hot tub overlooking the garden.
Each of the bedrooms feature exposed log rafters and large fireplaces, while the home's communal spaces are split into those for unwinding and those for entertaining. Outside, you'll find endless space and there isn't another house for miles. The ultimate billionaire bolthole, this isn't the only property that Bloomberg owns. In fact, he's said to have a mansion in Manhattan, a villa in Bermuda and a townhome in London.
In September 2019, before their much-publicised divorce after almost seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West added Monster Lake Ranch to their impressive and sprawling property empire.
Spanning over 1,500 acres, the private home boasts a backdrop of dramatic mountain scenery, and was listed as six separate parcels of land when it was on the market with J.P King Auction Company. Monster Lake Ranch includes a vast 3,888 acres and two freshwater trophy lakes, ideal for avid anglers.
Not much is known about the purchase, but before their split the couple reportedly planned to build a brand new 52,000-square-foot home and two underground garages on the land. Kanye spent a lot of time alone at the property following their separation and kept the ranch when the couple divorced in 2023.
Originally listed for $14 million (£11.2m), it's not known how much the duo paid for the property, but with a restaurant, saloon, ranch-style event venue, maintenance shop, office building, equestrian facilities and a shooting range, we can't imagine the substantial lot came cheap. A world away from Kim's LA mega-mansion, the estate has a number of freshwater lakes, said to be teeming with trout. Flanked by epic mountains and lakeside vistas, it's easy to see why Kim and Kanye were drawn to the spectacular parcel at one time. Yet, in October 2021 however, Kanye put the Wyoming property up for sale for $11 million (£8.8m) amid the former couple's divorce proceedings. Ye removed the ranch from the market again in August 2022 just a week after Kim and Pete Davidson's break up, according to the New York Post.
Yet, reportedly, it has come into disrepair in recent times, amid the star's damaged reputation. West has lost valuable deals with high-profile brands – such as Adidas, GAP and Balenciaga – making a huge dent in his notoriety and assets claiming his net worth plummeted from $2 billion (£1.6bn) to less than $400 million (£320m). Now newly married to Bianca Censori, let's hope things are once again on the up for the sprawling ranch...
The late, great King of Cool Steve McQueen was once the highest-paid movie star in the world in 1974, as well as an avid race car driver. The Great Escape star married his third wife, Barbara Minty, in 1980, and shortly after their nuptials, the couple snapped up a remote home in the wilds of northwestern America.
Once the home of the Hollywood star, this 500-acre ranch can be found nestled on a secluded rural lot in Hailey, Idaho, which must have offered plenty of privacy for the famous actor and his wife, Barbara. Yet just a few months after the couple moved in, McQueen passed away at the age of 50.
Now known as the Pioneer Moon Ranch, McQueen and Minty nicknamed the property Crazy M Ranch. Sold for $6.5 million (£5.2m) back in 2014, the property has undergone numerous changes since McQueen's day. A separate log cabin was built on the estate in 1990 by McQueen's widow, while a 1,700-square-foot entertainment annexe was added in 2010.
The adjacent log cabin, built as an annexe by subsequent owners, comes complete with one bedroom and one-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as cosy living spaces and numerous outdoor decks and balconies – perfect for sitting back and soaking up the tranquil surrounding scenery. Plus, with over a mile of the Big Wood River flowing directly through the estate, along with free-roaming moose, elk and deer, this pad is perfect for anyone seeking a slice of the quiet life.
British billionaire, entrepreneur and business magnate, Richard Branson is reportedly worth a jaw-dropping $3 billion (£2bn). He founded the Virgin Group in 1970, which today controls more than 400 companies across a variety of industries.
Necker Island, a slice of paradise owned by Sir Richard Branson, is part of the British Virgin Islands. The idyllic retreat is used by the business mogul as a luxury escape for himself and high-profile guests, ranging from presidents to royalty.
Offering an array of luxurious accommodation, it's the ideal VIP getaway. Sadly, many of the retreat's opulent buildings and much of Necker's breathtaking vegetation were destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017, but after extensive reconstruction, the exclusive resort reopened its doors in October 2018.
It's no surprise that Branson and his family spend a good deal of time on the island. Alongside the plush amenities and accommodation, there are several nature trails, an organic garden and an eco-friendly recreation area, making it the ideal spot to unwind. However, for the paying public, stays on the idyllic isle don't come cheap...
Hollywood legend Frank Sinatra still stands as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold an estimated 150 million records worldwide. But where did the late, great Hollywood crooner spend his downtime with his wife Barbara?
Over 500 miles away from the Hollywood Hills, this ultimate celebrity hideaway once hosted Sinatra, as well as stars including Judy Garland. Nestled along the shores of Lake Tahoe, the spectacular Villa Harrah was created by casino kingpin William Harrah and became renowned for hosting Rat Pack parties. The A-list playground sits just across the lake from the Cal Neva Resort and Casino, which Sinatra once part-owned.
According to Tahoe Quarterly, Villa Harrah was accessed via a secret underground tunnel that ran the length of the property, allowing Sinatra and other high-profile guests to come and go at ease. With the tunnel no longer in use, the 20,000-square-foot home has undergone extensive renovations and was recently on the market for $25.8 million (£21m) before being withdrawn.
Built in 1963, today the eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom home is jam-packed with luxury amenities that only money can buy, including a hair and beauty salon, a spa and a therapeutic Himalayan salt cave. Spread over three floors, the lake views are nothing short of breathtaking – just imagine taking a swim and soaking up this spectacular vista.
Outside, there's a private beach and pier overlooking the glistening lake, offering visitors a taste of the great outdoors in complete seclusion –it's not hard to see why Hollywood royalty flocked to this stunning Nevada escape.
Our next celebrity hideaway comes from late American singer-songwriter Kenny Rogers, whose former estate extends over a whopping 973 acres in Athens, Georgia. 'The Gambler' singer personally designed the vast property to create his own private oasis.
Rogers commissioned the palatial Beaver Dam Farms property back in the 1980s. The 'Islands in the Stream' co-singer was clearly drawn by the site's isolated location, which sits off the beaten track, surrounded by picturesque lakes and rolling countryside.
As far as ranches of the rich and famous go, this one is up there. The huge estate boasts not only a mansion, but also numerous guest houses, a clubhouse, two swimming pools and two clay tennis courts. In 2003, the Grammy Award-winning singer sold his beloved estate to real estate investor Wes Adams, who passed away in 2011. In 2016, the property went up for auction with a starting price of just $3.5 million (£2.8m), which included all of the estate's furnishings.
The main manor house covers 12,000 square feet of interior space and is every bit as luxurious as you'd expect. With marble columns and floors, coffered ceilings and high-end furnishings, the seven-bedroom house oozes opulence. Outside, an endless garden offers streams, waterfalls and woodland hiking trails – a world away from the bustling celebrity hotspots of Los Angeles.
If all that wasn't enough, the vast property also has a private 18-hole golf course, three stocked fishing lakes and a huge 72,000-square-foot equestrian centre, complete with stalls, paddocks, pastures and an outdoor riding ring – the ultimate ranch for a cowboy with deep pockets.
Much-loved American talk show host and actress Oprah Winfrey has an impressive property portfolio to date. However, in search of privacy away from the bright lights of Hollywood, she purchased a 43-acre Madroneagle Estate on Washington's Orcas Island in the summer of 2018.
A destination for A-listers craving peace and solitude, the star paid $8.3 million (£6.7m) for the private home on the exclusive isle. Blending in beautifully with its surroundings, the sprawling 7,303-square-foot main house was built using salvaged wood and local sandstone.
The property has breathtaking waterfront views over nearly 3,000 feet of shoreline, so it's no wonder that Oprah reportedly plans to spend at least two weeks of the year at the house. Madroneagle Estate's other selling points, which Oprah clearly couldn't resist, include a wine cellar, fitness centre and music studio. Nevertheless, it was clearly time to move on, as the star quietly let go of the estate in July 2021 for $14 million (£11.4m).
Late British-American comedian, actor, singer, dancer and author Bob Hope could do it all! The all-star talent was reportedly worth a whopping $700 million (£561.1m), mostly thanks to his valuable real estate holdings in Southern California. Let’s look at his sprawling Palm Springs estate…
Designed by famed architect John Lautner, this remarkable residence was home to Bob and his wife Dolores. Built in 1979, the sprawling abode sits in six acres of private land in Palm Springs, California. Perched at the top of a hill, the luxury desert home is often likened to a mushroom nestled amongst the undergrowth.
The estate was put on the market in 2013 for a staggering $50 million (£40.1m), and in late 2016 it was finally snapped up by the American investor Ron Burkle, for just $13 million (£10.4m) – a substantial discount! Burkle enlisted the help of architect Helena Arahuete to restore the house to its former glory.
Inside, the distinctive home features 10 bathrooms and 13 bathrooms across the showstopping interior. One of the main focal points has to be the breathtaking 60-foot-wide round skylight that's been carved into the roof, as well as the swathes of glass walls that draw the rugged rural landscape inside – it really is a private escape like no other.
Now living with new wife and former flame, Jennifer Lopez, this Hollywood star has a property collection all of his own where he can shelter from the glare of the paparazzi. His sprawling estate is considered one of the crown jewels along the coast of Savannah, Georgia.
With a dreamy façade and 87 acres of private land, Ben Affleck's stunning Greek Revival mansion is picture-perfect, and as Dirt reported, it most recently served as a backdrop for his wedding to the star, following a celebrity-worthy design makeover, as revealed on J.Lo's Instagram. However, in recent years, Affleck seemed desperate to shift his longtime retreat, which languished on the market for two years, before being reportedly withdrawn from sale completely. Seems like Affleck had second thoughts about bidding his country escape goodbye and we can't say we blame him.
The award-winning actor’s mansion overlooks the North Newport River on the ultra-exclusive Hampton Island preserve, an area referred to as one of the crown jewels of Georgia's coastline. Affleck bought the picture-perfect estate for $7.1 million (£5.6m) in 2003, when he was first dating J.Lo.
The late actress and singer Olivia Newton-John had owned a secluded ranch in New South Wales, Australia for almost four decades. The British-Australian star purchased the 187-acre estate following the release of Grease in 1978, but placed the property on the real estate market in 2019 for $3.6 million (£2.9m), selling the residence for an undisclosed sum.
The stunning Australian home is located just outside the coastal town of Byron Bay, among the beautiful landscapes of Victoria Park Nature Reserve. Reminiscing on purchasing the estate, the star recalled how the views from the farm were “breathtaking and captured my heart all those years ago”, according to Mansion Global.
Peaceful and extremely private, the estate is surrounded by an ancient rainforest, with Newton-John adding more than 10,000 trees to the site over the years. The extensive lot also boasts far-reaching lawns, several dams and streams, a natural waterfall and a tranquil creek. The ultimate escape for the animal-lover, the rural property is home to an array of wildlife, including a number of bird species.
Inside, the main house is equally as stunning as its location. Offering three bedrooms, stone fireplaces, log-burning stoves, natural pine floors and exposed ceiling beams, the property oozes rustic charm. As well as several cosy lounge spaces, there's a large farmhouse kitchen with a spacious dining area and a walk-in pantry.
Country music’s iconic couple, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have worked together for over 20 years on award-winning songs, tours and even acting roles. But where do they unwind away from their busy working lives with their three kids?
Described by real estate agents Knight Frank as a “safe haven paradise," this exclusive enclave is a celebrity home unlike any other. Located on the private island of Exumas, in the heart of the Bahamas, the luxurious property has belonged to country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw since 2003. Yet the A-list couple didn't move in until 2012, because their substantial self-build project took a little longer than expected, they told Architectural Digest in 2017.
The long-term couple decided to part ways with their remote island estate in early 2021, which lies an 80-minute flight from Miami, Florida. The lavish hideaway is known as L’île d’Anges (Goat Cay) and spans some 20 acres. As well as offering a stunning 6,512-square-foot interior, the property has almost 1.3 miles of water frontage, including two white sandy beaches fringed with palm trees.
Commanding the highest point on the island, the house benefits from spectacular panoramic views. Inside, you’ll find a chic and tranquil Mediterranean paradise with light-filled and open-plan living areas. An array of covered verandas connect the home’s eight individual ‘pods’, where four bedrooms and five bathrooms can be found.
There’s a great room, a screening room, a spacious kitchen, a lounge that opens onto the pool terrace, and a gorgeous master suite with its very own ocean-view terrace. The house also benefits from two beachfront yurts, where guests can sleep moments from the water. There’s even a secondary guest lodge, three staff houses and a private dock for speedy getaways. As far as island hideaways go, this one is up there with the best of them.
Comedian, producer and coffee lover, Jerry Seinfeld isn’t content with just one remote home. The sitcom star and his wife, Jessica, had two sprawling properties in the popular ski resort area of Telluride, Colorado, before putting both on the market in 2021 for just under $15 million (£12m) and around $2.8 million (£2.2m) respectively.
The larger 11-bedroom property sits on 27 acres, while the smaller four-bedroom house resides across 17 acres, both hosting spectacular views surrounded by aspen trees. After undergoing a huge renovation, the larger 12,500-square-foot home was listed for around $18.3 million (£14.9m) in 2011, but it was subsequently taken off the market. It's since sold for $14 million (£11.4m) in January 2022.
Each property has a modern farmhouse style, with wood panelling, gorgeous beams and reclaimed plank flooring. The main house was offered furnished, so the lucky buyer can relax and unwind in much the same fashion as the Seinfeld star, enjoying the same mountain views from the same leather recliner.
Alongside a grand total of 15 bedrooms across both properties, there are also plenty of amenities to keep you entertained, such as a lower-level rec room with a ping-pong table, as well as a wine room elsewhere in the home.
Outside the main house, you’ll find a 5,500-square-foot deck with views of manicured trails for miles, ready for cross-country skiing in winter or perhaps a spot of mountain biking or hiking in the warmer months. The trails cross over Turkey Creek and lead into the abutting National Forest. How's that for idyllic?
