Christmas is a time for traditions. Many of us are satisfied with a mince pie or five and a family gathering around the tree, but what if money were no object at the most wonderful time of the year?

Some of our favourite celebrities have taken to social media to share their celebrations at home.

For her first Christmas as a mother in 2023, Paris Hilton pulled out all the stops when she posted a series of images of her and husband Carter Reum with their two little treasures, son Phoenix, 11 months and six-week-old daughter London Marilyn, in matching Tartan pyjamas.

Writing a moving Instagram caption, she said: “I could never have imagined the happiness and gratitude I would feel in this moment. My beautiful family of four, my fairytale dream come true!” Adorable.

Paris was obviously still feeling a little girl herself as she donned her festive pyjamas and posed in front of her very own pink Christmas tree, despite having married venture capitalist Reum in November 2021.

The couple spent their first Christmas together in London, says People Magazine, a stop on their five-destination honeymoon. Speaking about how much she enjoys the holidays, Paris said:

“I love this time of year because I go all out with my decorations, get to spend time with my family and friends and get to give them all legendary presents."

Her glitzy decorations are in stark contrast to the more low-key traditional festive style Paris enjoyed growing up. She's seen here with her sister Nicky, in matching dresses in front of the stockings hung by the fireplace, when they were both little girls.

“So grateful for these memories with my family,” she commented on her Instagram. “These are the happy moments I’m so excited to now recreate for Phoenix and London."

We can't wait to see pictures of future Hilton Christmases.

Heidi Klum always seems to be having a good time, whatever the season.

She posted a range of festive photographs on her Instagram in December 2022, among them this fun image of her and husband, rock guitarist Tom Kaulitz, both wearing Santa hats.

The model also knows exactly what to get people as gifts as she shared a video of herself rolling herself up in Christmas paper, commenting: "Just wrapping my husband's Christmas present."

The America's Got Talent judge clearly enjoys the festive season and usually gets the whole gang together to celebrate.

Though not all visible due to Christmas gifts obscuring the view, her daughter Leni from her relationship with Flavio Briatore, her two sons Henry and Johan from her marriage to musician Seal, along with her husband Tom and his brother, German singer Bill Kaulitz in the background are all here. And the dogs of course! 

Christmas is special to Heidi and Tom because they announced their engagement on Christmas Eve in 2018, marrying in secret the following February.

The pair need no encouragement to fool around like a couple of kids. In a video posted by Heidi on her Instagram in 2023, the family had taken off for an exotic Christmas on the island of St Barts and decided to play on the beach swings.

Just like Heidi, her co-star on America’s Got Talent, Sofia Vergara knows how to celebrate the holidays in style.

The Modern Family actress split from her husband of seven years, Joe Manganiello, in July 2023, but by December 25th she was posing in front of her tree at home with son Manolo González Vergara and other party guests, looking festive.

In 2022, the couple looked as if they were destined to be together forever to judge by this classic Christmas shot in front of the tree.

The couple started dating in 2014 after meeting at that year’s White House Correspondents Dinner. Manganiello proposed on Christmas Day that same year after a whirlwind romance. The pair tied the knot the following November at the Breakers Palm Beach Resort in Florida. 

Don’t be deceived by the Christmas jumper though. The couple were actually in their holiday home on an island in the Caribbean which is only accessible via seaplane.

Of course, it’s all very well for the grown-ups to throw themselves into the festive period, but the actress likes her Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix dog Bubbles to join in too. And on Christmas Day in 2021 she dressed him up in a cute Santa outfit. 

We imagine he might have had fun with those empty boxes too!

Jada and Will Smith take the holiday spirit very seriously. Even in 2023, just a couple of months after Jada's revelation that she and Will had split in 2016, but had not felt the need to go public, the pair still managed to put on a united front for the festive season. 

The estranged couple and their family dug out their finest gaudy Christmas jumpers for a festive photo shoot which they posted on Instagram, with Smith donning a loud festive jumper and a curly white wig, while his daughter Willow wore a sweater with her dad's face on it! 

From acting to singing, screenwriting and producing, Will and Jada have remained one seriously powerful duo throughout their marriage.

Yet unlike many celebrities, who fly off to luxurious destinations or call in Santa Claus for a one-to-one, Will and Jada take a more homely approach to the holidays and usually stay put at their lavish $42 million (£33m) property in Calabasas, California, with Jada's mum, Adrienne, and their three children, Jaden, Trey and Willow.

The split doesn't appear to have made any difference to their Christmas festivities, however. 

In 2018, the family decked their home out with colossal Christmas trees, fake snow and fairy lights, while Will even filmed a short festive video, A Smith Family Christmas. 

From magic tricks to sing-alongs, the video offered fans a glimpse inside the Smith household in the run-up to the big day. 

Jennifer Lopez was happily married to Ben Affleck during Christmas 2023 and the couple, who married in July 2022, threw an unforgettable Christmas party for family and friends at their Bel Air 'forever' home in December 2023, where guests included Margot Robbie and Michael B. Jordan.

Despite the happy pic she posted on Instagram that December, she and Affleck split the following April.

However, the star is well known for her fun get-togethers over the Christmas period. In 2020 she served up a treat when she agreed to do a duet of the Christmas song ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ with vocal coach Stevie Mackey for his album of the same name.

In 2021 J.Lo showed us all her domestic side when she posted an adorable video to Instagram of her making waffles with her family.

Shot in the stunning kitchen of her Bel Air mansion, which she bought for $28 million (£22m) in 2016, we see make-up free J.Lo in her PJs whipping up piping hot waffles with cream and berries in front of a line of twinkling Christmas trees. Very festive.

And in previous years, J.Lo got more than stuck in with decorating. Despite her effortless glamour at all times, the star is not too grand to get her hands dirty, trimming the tree with her kids in this 2018 photograph.

She was still in a relationship with baseball player Alex Rodriguez at the time and is seen decking the halls of their Miami house with the help of some very eager elves. “The best times are with these lil ones,” she commented on her Instagram.

Selena Gomez spends most of the year on show and dressed up to the nines. So, is it any wonder that she wants to kick back and dress down in her PJs over the festive period? As seen here on her Instagram in December 2020, Selena knows how to relax.

With a simple tree and posing with her dog Winnie, we love how cosy they both look.

One thing's for sure though. There will be plenty of delicious treats on offer on Selena's Christmas table.

She's well known for her culinary talents, taking part in 2023's Warner Bros. Discovery Christmas special: Selena+Chef: Home for the Holidays, where she invited celebrity chefs into her home to show off their favourite dishes.

Seen here alongside chef Alex Guarnaschelli, in pink, her little sister Gracie and best friend Raquelle Stevens, with her papa and nana on the left, the star said: “The holidays have always meant so much to me.”

The singer thought about others in 2016 when she visited patients at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth in her native Texas, who were not able to go home for the holiday season. 

“She was very sweet and amazing with the kids,” reported online site ENews.

The gesture came after a difficult year in which she had taken time off to seek treatment for depression and other side effects of lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease.

We're big fans of Chip and Joanna Gaines, not least because their incredible Fixer Upper home renovations never fail to inspire.

The HGTV power couple is also all about food, family and festivities, and every year they go all out to create a winter wonderland that combines tradition with their signature modern farmhouse style.

As you’d expect, Chip and Joanna know how to make Christmas look good at their family home in Waco, Texas. 

Joanna starts early decking the halls with beautiful decorations, handing out exquisite gifts and spending lots of time together at home, as well as cooking up festive treats for the whole family to enjoy. 

“I'm one of those that start decorating in November because I want the holiday season to last as longggg as possible,” she said.

The Gaines’ Christmas celebrations are based on long-standing family traditions, many of which are well worth stealing for yourself.

During a video filmed in collaboration with Target, Chip revealed the couple’s favourite annual ritual is wrapping the door for the kids to run through on their way to opening the gifts.

Joanna also likes to get the kids involved with decorating. She's seen here in 2021 with her youngest son Crew, setting up and dressing the Christmas tree.  No matter how hard we try, we doubt our Christmases could ever be as stylish as theirs!

Rihanna once got so excited for Christmas, she posted a video to Instagram of herself dancing around her tree in 2019. Fast forward to Christmas 2024 and the star had an added reason to dance for joy.

Now a mother to two little boys, the star posted this photo of herself with her little treasures at the beginning of the festive season in November, saying: “We are officially one of those families that match for the holidays."

The singer has two sons with rapper A$AP Rocky: Riot Rose, who was born in August 2023 and RZA, born in May 2022.

The Fenty founder was just as cute as her sons when she was a little girl growing up in Barbados.

Friends and family are central to the meaning of Christmas for Rihanna. She tends to fly home to Barbados whenever she can for the Christmas holidays.

And given that she is, according to Forbes, the second wealthiest female musician in the world (after Taylor Swift), she can flash the cash when it comes to buying presents for the folks back home. 

Here she is the night before Christmas in 2017, emptying her sacks of gifts underneath the tree.

A-list power couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are known for their sense of humour and fun-filled family life, which they share snippets of on Instagram.

So, of course, Christmas is a special time in their household. In fact, in 2018, Legend released his first festive album, A Legendary Christmas, which accompanied a special TV variety show.

Yet instead of spending their time at home in Beverly Hills, John and Chrissy prefer to celebrate the holidays further afield.

Of course, even when they do decide to jet off for their festive celebrations, they make sure they deck the halls of their LA home with snow-dusted Christmas trees and nutcrackers before they leave, so that Miles and Luna can get into the festive spirit.

There will be more little ones to enjoy the fun since the arrival of their two youngest children in 2023.

The couple, who wed in 2013, now have four kids, following the births of Esti Maxine, in January 2023 and Wren Alexander, via surrogate, in the following June.

John and Chrissy took the whole family to celebrate Christmas in New York in 2023, but managed to sneak off for a cosy dinner for two as we can see by this sweet picture.

For actor and mother-of-four Hilary Duff, Christmas is all about family and making the holidays as magical as possible for her little ones.

The former Lizzie McGuire star is a self-confessed festive fanatic and loves to gather her troop together for everything from Christmas tree shopping to visits to Santa's grotto. Her annual celebrations seem totally down to earth and filled with love.

This picture sees Hilary with husband Matthew Koma. The couple tied the knot during a winter wonderland wedding in December 2021.

In 2019, the musician and actor took her family to find the perfect Christmas tree to decorate. She and Matthew had welcomed their first child Banks Violet Bair in 2018 and would go on to have Mae James Bair in 2021.

The photo they captured during the trip offered an authentic window into their everyday family life and proved that no one is immune to their children throwing the odd tantrum. Yet another reason why we love Hilary Duff.

Always one to make the festive season as memorable as possible, the actress posted a picture of the family's Christmas card in December 2023, which showed her cradling her growing belly, announcing 'Surprise!'

Townes Meadow Bair was born on 3 May 2024 at home in a water birth, so the family will have even more to celebrate from now on. We can't wait to see the Christmas photos.

Everyone knows that the Kardashian-Jenner clan like to celebrate in style, think extravagant birthday parties and family vacations we could only dream of.

One major festive tradition is their annual Christmas card photoshoot, which has become progressively more lavish as the years have gone on.

This holiday card was captured in 2018 and was the family's last group Christmas card before they went on to take photos in their individual family groups.

Of course, the Kardashians know how to decorate with flair and don't hold back when it comes to glitz and glamour. They each turn their palatial pads into winter wonderlands worthy of the North Pole.

In 2016, Kris Jenner even called in floral designer Jeff Leatham to help transform the original Kardashian house into the Christmas crib of dreams. The extravagant decorations included a giant red polar bear, custom made from metal and glass, that was flown over from Paris.

The Kardashians' annual Christmas Eve party is the stuff of legends. Each year the party gets more extravagant. In 2019, the glitzy bash featured everything from a real-life Elf on the Shelf to an upside-down Christmas tree and live performance from Sia.

It was a white Christmas in 2023 however (pictured), when Kim hosted the event. She turned her home into a winter wonderland for the occasion. 

A mix of real and fake snow covered a mini evergreen forest in her backyard. The main attraction had to be the sledding hill, which was a hit with adults and children alike. “We brought the holiday magic this year,” said Kim in Kourtney’s blog Poosh. 

Since their December wedding in 2018, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra like to enjoy a truly international Christmas period. 

From flying off to England to celebrate with their extended family to welcoming in the New Year on a romantic ski trip in Switzerland, this superstar duo knows how to celebrate in style.

In 2016, The Jonas Brothers spoke to food magazine Delish about their traditions, revealing that as kids they enjoyed shrimp creole on the big day each year. 

Meanwhile, in 2018, Nick and Priyanka flew to the UK to celebrate the holidays with Nick's brother and bandmate, Joe Jonas, and his partner Sophie Turner, who were married the following year.

The homely, festive affair was all about good food and bracing country walks. They took this wonderful family photo to mark the occasion.

Even when it wasn't possible to get together in large numbers, Nick and Priyanka brought the festive spirit. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the Hollywood couple were stranded in London for the festive season due to travel restrictions.

They spent Christmas Eve strolling around the streets of the city with their pet dog, while Priyanka donned some fabulous novelty glasses.

Reese Witherspoon is another huge holiday fan. The award-winning actor takes part in all aspects of the festive countdown, from picking her own tree from the farm to organising the annual Christmas card photoshoot.

Reese's holiday is all about traditions. In 2018, she revealed the family's Christmas Day routine on the blog of her clothing company, Draper James: "On Christmas morning, the kids wake us up early to open gifts. Then we spend the day cooking and baking and finish out the day with a good Christmas movie by the fire." Sounds idyllic. 

In 2019, Reese offered us a further glimpse into her family's Christmas celebrations, posting a photo of the Witherspoon women during the family's annual festive gathering. "We sing Christmas carols at our holiday party each year," she told Draper James. "Everyone takes a part."

But it's this intimate shot of her with her sons Tennessee and Deacon in 2021, that shows how family is the most important thing about Christmas for the Legally Blonde star, who commented: "Where I want to be. With my family. By a fire. Laughing. Enjoying each other's company." Well that pretty much sums up the festive season for most of us. 

Sadly, this was the last Christmas family shot Reese posted on her Instagram before she and second husband Jim Toth split in 2023. 

However, the star went public with her romance with German financier Oliver Haarmann early in 2024. By October she was getting into the holiday spirit with the publication of her book Busy Betty and the Perfect Christmas Present.

No one does it quite like the 'Queen of Christmas', Mariah Carey.

According to British political magazine The Economist, the singer's festive hit, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', had reportedly made her a staggering $60 million (£46m) by 2016, since it was released in 1994.

Synonymous with festive cheer, the song celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 and still earns her at least $2.5-$3 million (£1.9m-£2.3m) in royalties every year. It’s the song that keeps on giving!

The songstress officially kicked off the countdown to Christmas 2024 on Halloween, when she posted a video of herself dressed as Morticia from The Addams Family, who transforms into the Queen of Christmas in a Santa suit, declaring: “It’s time!!!” 

The singer’s 'My Christmas Time' US tour started on 6 November 2024, but for those who couldn’t make it, there was always the chance of seeing her at Madame Tussaud’s in New York. The star unveiled her new Christmas-inspired wax figure, seen here.

Can you guess which one is the real Mariah?

The festivities officially begin on 23 December every year, when she travels to Aspen with her two children, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon.

For the global superstar, the season is all about making the holidays as magical as possible. In 2019, Mariah told Cosmopolitan her strict Christmas rules: “You’re not invited if you’re going to cause any drama,” she told them. “There are no fights on Christmas.” 

In Aspen, Mariah pulls out all the stops: “We’ll go through the woods on a two-horse open sleigh with blankets and real reindeer... It’s an incredible moment I love every year."

After 13 years living under the strict conservatorship of her father, Britney Spears spent her first liberated Christmas in 2021. Here she is cosied up in her palatial mansion in the heart of Los Angeles with her fiancé Sam Asghari.

Having previously been unable to make basic financial and medical decisions about her everyday life, the pop princess finally had something to celebrate.

The star is a big fan of the festive season and in 2019 went all out with her Christmas decorations, adorning the outside of her Thousand Oaks home with a huge collection of lights (pictured). Back in 2012, it was reported that she spent a whopping $3,400 (£2.6k) on Christmas lights alone! 

In 2021, as her conservatorship battle was coming to an end, Britney decided to celebrate the holidays early and put up her tree in October. Sharing her worries about being free after 13 years in a lengthy Instagram post, she revealed that celebrating Christmas early was her way of finding joy in life. 

However, by the beginning of December 2021 Britney had opted for a change and decided to decorate her tree in a red theme after following a pink motif for four years running.

She adorned the tree with gold and red ribbon and red and white baubles. We can't wait to see how she celebrates in years to come.

Ariana Grande had a very joyful Christmas with her nearest and dearest in 2023.

The pop superstar looked happy and serene as she posed for selfies with her brother Frankie and mother Joan in front of a glittering Christmas tree.

Earlier in the year, she was declared officially divorced from husband Dalton Gomez after separating six months previously.

The Grammy-award winner also proudly showed off her Christmas tree to her loyal fans.

Opting for a real tree, she went for minimal decorations that included fairy lights some big baubles and some red berries. Minimalist and chic, this is one of our favourite trees for a no-hassle Christmas.

As well as spending time with her closest friends and family, in 2020 Ariana also celebrated Christmas with a generous gesture.

The popstar gifted hundreds of young hospital patients in Manchester with £100 ($129) Amazon vouchers following the devastating attack at her concert there in 2017.

Miley Cyrus sold her luxury ranch in Tennessee in August 2022, but not before one last big family Christmas there.

The 'Flowers' songstress celebrated the festive season with her family in 2021, seen here alongside her mother Tish, who is holding her baby nephew, Bear, the son of her brother Braison and wife Stella, also pictured.

That's an impressive looking tree and we love that the dog was included in the family photo.

The star shared some other festive photos with her family, including her dad country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, in 2019. The tongue-in-cheek caption read: “Happy Holidays from America’s most dysfunctional family.”

She may have had a point. Just a few years later in 2022, after 27 years of marriage, her parents announced they were divorcing, with her dad rumoured to be dating a twenty-something aspiring popstar.

Miley shared this photo of herself and a friend dancing in front of their Christmas tree in 2023, referencing her own song in the caption, saying: "It’s definitely a Nashville party."

The singer, who has been in a relationship with musician Maxx Morando since January 2022, will no doubt be curious to see what her godmother Dolly Parton has got her for Christmas this year. In a 2024 magazine interview, Miley revealed that the previous year, Dolly had gifted her a life-sized mannequin in her likeness!

Now that’s certainly a gift for the girl who has everything!

Whether they’re posing in matching pyjamas with their English cocker spaniels or Victoria’s rocking a playful sweater reading 'All I Want for Christmas Is David Beckham,' every snap radiates festive warmth and joy.

Back in 2020, the Beckhams shared a family photo from their home in the Cotswolds. Shared on Instagram, these moments showcase the Beckham family’s close bond, delighting their 120+ million followers.

In 2022 eldest son Brooklyn and new wife Nicola Peltz were said to be planning to spend Christmas with the bride’s family in Miami, rather than with the Beckham clan. But by 2023, he was back with the Beckham clan.

Victoria posted this jolly image of her and the family in their Miami penthouse in the One Thousand Museum tower.

The former Spice Girl wore a luxury printed dressing gown while her daughter Harper and daughter-in-law Nicola wore matching checked pyjama bottoms. Former England captain David matched with son Brooklyn. We love a family who embraces Christmas PJs, don't you?

Christmas is a big deal for the Beckhams, who traditionally spend the holidays at their £6.2 million ($7.8m) converted farmhouse in the Cotswolds, where even the dogs wear Christmas sweaters (we love a pampered pooch).

And who knows? With rumours of them buying another property in Miami, a £63.2 million ($80m) home, no less, perhaps we’ll see snaps from there in Christmases to come.

It was hardly surprising that Shakira wanted to get away from it all in 2022.

The star had split from footballer Gerard Piqué in June 2022 and agreed joint custody of the couple’s two sons Milan and Sasha.

The songstress took the boys to the United Arab Emirates for an unforgettable break. “In the desert this Christmas, searching for serenity,” she said on her Instagram.

Just a year previously all had seemed well with the 'Hips Don’t Lie' singer when she posted this cute image of herself cradling the family bunny rabbit.

“Merry Christmas from Toby and on behalf of all the bunny moms in the world!” She declared.

Although she and Piqué didn’t split until the following June, it was rumoured that the sportsman had cheated on Shakira with future girlfriend Clara Chia Marti.

In 2022, Shakira shared a heartfelt moment with her fans by posting a picture of her classic gold star perched atop her Christmas tree. Along with the photo, she wrote: "Thanks for all the love and support you gave me and my kids during this year. I wish you a sweet holiday. Here’s to a 2023 that's filled with peace and hope."

Fast forward to the following year, Shakira gave her followers a good laugh with a humorous video showcasing her attempt at a gingerbread house. In the caption, she joked, “This is technically the worst gingerbread house ever.” Despite her best efforts, the sugary walls had crumbled under the weight of icing and candy.

Although Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne announced they would be putting their longtime LA home on the market and returning to Britain in 2022, it was Christmas as usual in Hancock Place in 2023.  

Sharon posted a video of herself putting up the decorations, commenting: "One of my happy places," and reports suggest the family have delayed their return to their native England due to the Black Sabbath frontman's frail health.

The family, here in 2021, have spent many happy Christmases at their 11,565-square-foot (1,074 sqm) Hancock Place mansion, which hit the market for $18 million (£14.3m) in July 2022.

With seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen, it has been the ideal place to celebrate the festive season over the years.

The house hadn't sold in time for Christmas 2024, but according to British newspaper the Daily Mail, they are determined to return... eventually. 

Sharon posted this image of her and youngest daughter Kelly battling to dress the tree back in 2016. Like many of us, she has collected her tree decorations over the years and enjoys the creative process every year.

Her decision to return to the UK was partly prompted by her sacking from her long-time show The Talk and high taxes. Since then, the family have launched their own podcast called The Osbournes.

Affectionately referred to as 'The Hoff' by his fans, David Hasselhoff has a good sense of humour and even does a line of “Merry Hoffmas” Christmas jumpers which he sells online at his dedicated store hoffshop.com.

The jumper even features a headshot of the actor from his days when he starred in Baywatch. We'll take five, please.

The actor, who is a popular singer in his native Germany, even posted an image of himself with his wife Ashley Roberts during lockdown sporting the 'Merry Hoffmas' jumpers, with Hayley teaming hers with a pandemic face mask. 

The couple married in a small ceremony in Puglia in 2018 and the Welsh model, who is 28 years younger than her husband, is said to have formed a close relationship with David's grown-up daughters from his marriage to Pamela Bach.

The former Knight Rider actor had a poignant way of wishing his fans a happy Christmas in 2021 by posting an image of himself by his Christmas tree and another of him tucking into a turkey with all the trimmings, commenting: “Merry Hoffmas! Wish in the New Year in the words of Rodney King, “Can’t we all just get along?””

One of Germany's hottest stars, Diane Kruger loves to give fans an insight into her Christmas celebrations. Posing for the camera with partner, The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus in 2023, Diane wished her followers: "Happy Holidays from our bonkers family to yours."

The couple have a daughter together, who can be seen here helping with decorating in 2021. This was the height of Covid-restricted travel plans, meaning Kruger, like everyone else, was spening the holiday season at home.

She clearly was feeling the love though, as she commented: "While we were sad to cancel our plans due to Covid, I’m grateful to be with my fiancé and daughter, safe and sound and surrounded by love. Missing my friends and family I didn’t get to see this year once again, but you are with us in spirit."

And Diane loves to decorate, even starting a little early. This post to Instagram in November 2024 shows a dainty faux-Christmas tree, with a decorative tapered candle, ready to light for Advent.

We love the pared back style and fully endorse getting festive as early as possible!

Finally, some sound advice for a perfect Christmas from the undisputed Queen of Christmas homemaking, Martha Stewart, who knows how to be the 'hostess with the mostess'.
