Estate manager and antiques hunter Jennifer Little is used to finding hidden treasures in her line of work. She clears old houses, wading through piles of trash and hoarder homes to find lovely vintage pieces that she sells online, and sharing her experiences with her 35,000 TikTok followers.  

When Jennifer Little moved some furniture around in the master bedroom of a recently visited estate, little did she know that she would find a manhole hidden under the carpet. Let's take a look inside the amazing discovery... 

Documented in a series of now-viral TikTok videos, Jennifer Little was investigating an empty old house when she noticed something a little different. Hidden under a strip of carpet was a secret concealed manhole. At first, she thought it might be a bomb shelter from the Second World War, but it turned out to be a little more recent than that...

The manhole had been hidden by this 400lb (181kg) mid-century sideboard, which was shifted by Jennifer's husband. Another clue to what lies beneath came in the form of ventilation slots that were disguised within the walls and corners.

Once the manhole cover was lifted away, it revealed a damp and dark space. Too scared to investigate herself, Little sent her husband down into the depths to take a look at what was sitting under the house. 

Once down there, Jennifer got the shock of her life when it was revealed that a whole 1950s bunker was hidden under the home. Long left abandoned, the bunker was falling apart and filled with dust and rubble and no longer weather-proof.

Shining a torch on different spots around the room, it was revealed that it had two bunk beds and even an old urinal. Hooks can be seen sticking out from one of the walls and the floor is covered in old debris. 

As the home was built in 1951 during the Cold War, Jennifer came to the conclusion that the bomb shelter was created along with the property, which is in California. Within the sleeping quarters, it looks like the last residents left behind some bits and bobs, including these bottles which have been gathering dust for years. 

Jennifer and her husband also found a dry storage space for food but built separately to the secure part of the bunker, which means that anyone hiding inside would have to leave the shelter to get their food. This perfect time capsule has blown our minds!
