Miley Cyrus has bought herself more than just flowers over the past decade. With an impressive career spanning more than 15 years as a successful actress and pop star, and her first two Grammys in the bag in 2024, it's no surprise the young star has built up a sizeable property portfolio.

The daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and goddaughter of Dolly Parton, Miley is worth around $160 million (£127m). From her birthplace in Tennessee to her home in California, let's retrace Miley's road to fame and step inside the amazing houses she has picked up along the way... 

Having spent time living in Malibu, Studio City and of course, her home state of Tennessee, Miley Cyrus has accumulated an incredible collection of jaw-dropping real estate over the years.

After unloading her Tennessee ranch and Hidden Hills homes, today she still has the deeds to her Studio City home, which she bought around a decade ago and her most recent purchase was a home in Malibu. Born into a famous family, let's take a look at her luxury property journey...

Thrust straight into the limelight, Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on 23 November 1992 to singer Billy Ray Cyrus and actress Tish Cyrus.

One of six siblings, as a child, her sunny disposition earned her the nickname 'smiley Miley'. The fun moniker stuck and in 2008 she legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus. 

Before she was famous, Miley lived in this isolated farmhouse with her family until she was 14 years old. Located in Thompson's Station, a town in Williamson County, Tennessee, the home is surrounded by around 500 acres of land and hidden from the road.

With her father determined to keep his children out of the spotlight, it was the perfect place to grow up away from the bright lights of the city. 

Despite Billy Ray's apprehensions, after a small role in her father's TV series Doc, and a part in Tim Burton's Big Fish, in 2003, at the age of 11, Miley auditioned for a role in Hannah Montana. Miley secured the lead role in the popular Disney Channel series about a girl who lives a double life as a normal teenage student and a pop star.

The first episode was aired in 2006 and lasted five years with the final season showing in 2011. 

It wasn't until the start of filming Hannah Montana that the Cyrus family decided to up sticks from their country Tennessee home to this glamorous property in Toluca Lake, California.

The perfect location for the Disney Studios, this was where Miley spent most of her teenage years growing up and finding her feet in the starry world of California. 

The Tuscan-style property is tucked away behind high walls and a private gate. Accessed by a long winding driveway, it was designed and built in 2007 by architect Bob Easton, so would have been brand new when the Cyrus family moved in.

The grand entrance hallway with a curved wrought-iron staircase leads to the formal rooms that open out to the view of the lush garden through arched windows. 

The chef's kitchen would have been perfect for the large family with granite countertops, wooden cabinets and a centre island.

Rustic and traditional, we're sure the Cyrus clan would have felt right at home in their new Los Angeles abode. 

Spread over 8,700 square feet, the home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms and all the amenities a family could ever need including a home theatre. 

The guitar display room would have been a major attraction for Miley's father Billy Ray Cyrus, best known for his 1992 hit 'Achy Breaky Heart.'

The glamorous master bedroom is spread over two levels and boasts a rooftop terrace with a fireplace and large walk-in wardrobes.

After the end of Hannah Montana, the rest of the family moved back to Tennessee and the home was placed into a trust for Miley.

In 2015 the star put the home on the market after numerous break-in attempts, at an asking price of just shy of $6 million (£4.7m), which she went on to sell for that same amount. 

Miley wasted no time in shedding her Disney image after the end of Hannah Montana and quickly started up a singing career. She overhauled her look and went on to release her first studio album separate from Disney in 2013. Bangerz signalled a new era for the star and she went on to release four more albums.

Over the course of her career, Miley has also won a whole host of awards, including the World's Best Female Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, as well as her first two Grammys and a Brit in 2024. 

At 18 years old just as she was forging her own career, Miley moved out of the home she shared with her parents and snapped up this amazing dream home in Studio City for $3.9 million (£3m).

The budding star chose the location to make sure that she was close to her parents, who were still living in their Tuscan-style Toluca Lake home at the time. 

Described as Miley's party pad, the singer was reported to host wild parties at the home.

It was also rumoured to have a $10,700 (£8.5k) toilet, a $53,000 (£42k)-a-year chef and a four-person $26,000 (£20.5k) tipi in the garden which she put up for her 21st birthday celebrations in 2013. 

Spread over just under 5,000 square feet, the mid-century single-storey home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms as well as a huge open-plan living area with surround sound that is perfect for the 'Wrecking Ball' singer's gatherings. 

The master bedroom is as good as it can get, with a spa-inspired ensuite bathroom. It also features sliding doors that open up to the gardens which boast a saltwater solar heated pool and lush lawns.

The home must hold a special place in Miley's heart, as she still owns it to this day. 

After selling her Los Angeles home in 2015, Miley used the money to buy this equestrian ranch in Hidden Hills, California.

Paying $5 million (£4.3m) for the property that sits on over five acres of land, it was the perfect retreat for the busy star as she was just about to host the MTV Video Music Awards, which caused huge controversy as she tried to forge a fresh start in her career. 

Spread over 6,500 square feet, the main home on the estate has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, states the listing. 

The central living space is the perfect place to kick back and relax with an open-plan layout it boasts vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, wide-plank wood and brick finishes for a rustic feel. 

The kitchen comes complete with granite countertops and a centre island with seating, which is perfect for entertaining.

Unsurprisingly, the space is finished off with dark wood cabinets creating a country feel, that the popstar seems to favour. 

The master bedroom is fit for the most high profile of stars with a cosy stone fireplace and French doors that lead outside to the sprawling grounds.

Elsewhere the property is also home to some jaw-dropping amenities including a wet bar, a 1,000 bottle wine cellar and an outdoor pool. 

Perfect for the horse-loving star, the house is surrounded by paddocks, a chicken coop with a henhouse and a vineyard with 550 grapevines.

Just three years after she snapped it up, Miley decided to part ways with the home in 2018 and sold it for $5 million (£4m), in an off-market deal, not long before she married her then-boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. 

In 2016, the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker purchased this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom ranch-style Malibu residence for $2.5 million (£2.1m), Trulia reports. The star chose the home as it was near then-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's home, and reportedly the couple used it as a creative studio and guest house.

Located in a super-secure gated community, the contemporary house has an unusual exterior that's been painted in a fetching turquoise hue.

In November 2018, Miley almost lost her dream home as the Malibu mansion fell victim to the Woolsey wildfires that swept through the star-studded SoCal beach city. 

Sadly, the couple's main residence, did not fare as well. Liam shared this devastating image of his property to his social media accounts showing what was left of the residence. 

The singer revealed later that she had been filming Black Mirror in South Africa when the fire broke out, but kept on working. “The show must go on,” she said. She added however, that she had nightmares where she was strapped to a bed unable to move for years after.

Miley later said the devastating loss of the home led her and Liam to tie the knot a month later. “I think that’s really what, ultimately, getting married was for me. One last attempt to save myself,” she said.

The couple separated seven months later and were divorced in 2020, just days after she sold the Malibu home for $1.7 million (£1.3m). Her hit song 'Flowers' is reported to allude to the breakdown of her relationship with Hemsworth.

In 2017 Miley headed back towards her home state and bought this farmhouse-style ranch in Franklin, Tennessee, for $5.8 million (£4.6m). 

Built in 2014, the home, listed with Fridrich & Clark Realty, isn't short of space and is spread over 6,869 square feet with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. 

The ultimate celebrity hideaway, the home sits on a staggering 33 acres of land surrounded by dense woodland. The perfect private property, it's extremely secluded sitting behind a secure gate and a long sweeping driveway. 

Inside, the home is breathtakingly beautiful. The main living space boasts double-height vaulted ceilings with exposed timber beams, while the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace adds star quality to the room. 

Typical of Cyrus' interior style, the home blends modern details with southern touches for a classic look. With a number of wood-burning fireplaces dotted around the home, the cosy space also features timber panelling and a country-style kitchen. 

The stunning master bedroom is fit for pop royalty and sits alongside a three-car garage, an outdoor swimming pool and lift access to both floors.

Though never on the market, Miley’s Franklin ranch racked up the most expensive property deal of 2022 when she sold it for $14.5 million (£11.4m) in August 2022. Quite the property appreciation for our 'Wrecking Ball' star.

In July 2020, just weeks before she split from her new boyfriend Australian singer and actor Cody Simpson, Miley bought this Hidden Hills home for just shy of $5 million (£4m).

Built in the mid-1950s, the classic clapboard home has been redesigned for modern living inside. 

The huge arched windows are a feature of the open-concept layout, says the listing. 

With vaulted ceilings and French doors that lead outside, the beautiful living space boasts a fresh all-white colour scheme and minimalistic décor. 

With the marble-topped island as the centrepiece, the kitchen also features a vaulted ceiling and skylights and leads through to the casual family room with a fireplace and more French doors.

Elsewhere, there's a plush screening room and bar area so that the singer can play hostess. 

With not one but two master suites and four guest bedrooms, there's plenty of space.

Sitting on the second level, the main master bedroom offers a fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and a spacious bathroom complete with a marble steam shower and an all-important glam station. 

Heading outside, the lagoon-style swimming pool is surrounded by an open-air pavilion that houses an outdoor kitchen and an easily accessible dining area.

In 2021, less than a year after snapping it up and after giving it a colourful makeover with mum interior designer Tish, the star sold it for a reported $7.2 million (£5.7m). But that's not the end of our Tennessee singer's property collection—where has Miley snapped up most recently?

After selling up her Hidden Hills ranch in 2021 and selling off her Tennessee ranch in August 2022, the 'We Can’t Stop' singer didn’t stop snapping up another house in Malibu, near where she previously lived with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

The recently-refurbished residence sits within a private, gated community of Malibu with fellow pop star neighbours including Lady Gaga and Avril Lavigne.

The contemporary Mediterranean-style estate was built in 1999 and cost Cyrus a reported $7.9 million (£6.7m).

Stretching over 6,500 square foot of living space, the six-bedroom mansion is awash with fresh white walls brightly lit via large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and flush recessed spot lighting.

The ultimate in open-plan living, Miley’s new two-storey entrance opens out into three entertaining rooms including this formal dining room, a billiards room and a cosy living room complete with fireplace and piano. 

Miley’s primary suite upstairs boasts another fireplace for cosy nights in, alongside a seating area, bathroom with built-in tub and a covetable private balcony.

The Nashville native can enjoy idyllic ocean views from her bedroom, while her guests can enjoy one of five en-suite bedrooms with matching neutral décor. We’re sure our vibrant pop star will take no time redecorating her new digs, however, with plenty of animal print and colour on the horizon.

Outside, the Californian retreat boasts wraparound lawns and well-kept gardens with a heated swimming pool and adjoining raised spa, while a pair of sun loungers take pride of place on the terrace.

It hasn't been all rest and relaxation since she moved in. The singer's alleged stalker is reported to have turned up on her doorstep in early 2023 with a stuffed toy as a gift. Cyrus had been granted a court-ordered protection against Alexander Karddalian, in September 2023, just a few days after his release from prison. His obsession with the star is said to date back to 2018. 

No wonder the star has moved so often over the past five years. But she didn’t go too far to shoot the video for her Disney+ special Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions).

The singer is seen dancing and prancing around quintessential Californian residence Farralone House designed by William Perreira.

It was Beyoncé’s house in the 2006 movie Dreamgirls and is the former home of Frank Sinatra, who reportedly hosted Marilyn Monroe here in his guesthouse for several years. 

Cyrus also filmed the video for her hit Flowers here, as well as her eighth album Endless Summer Vacation. The star didn’t make a bid however, when the house was listed a few months later for $16.5 million (£12.9m). Maybe it was too well known for her liking?

Miley turned up for the Grammy Awards in 2024 in a barely-there, gold metallic Maison Margiela dress, which was made of 14,000 gold safety pins. The singer picked up her first two Grammys for her international hit ‘Flowers’, which she performed in another show-stopping gown. 

The star received her first Grammy, for Best Pop Vocal Performance, from Mariah Carey, and it was a moment that clearly hit the spot for the former Hannah Montana star. “This MC is going to stand by this MC because this is just too iconic,” she said.

Later in the evening she won the award for Record of the Year and the following month, the 'Flowers' anthem won International Song of the Year at the Brit Awards.

The pop star wore no less than five different outfits to the Grammy Awards, but then she’s been a bit of a fashion icon for years. 

She has starred in several campaigns for major brands including Marc Jacobs and Gucci, and most recently fronted the Dolce & Gabanna ads for the company's 2024 spring summer eyewear collection, as well as creating its soundtrack ‘Heart’.

From Tennessee to sunny Malibu, after somewhat of a selling spree over recent years, Miley Cyrus appears to be staying put for the time being and enjoying the spoils of her success.

She has been in a low-key relationship with musician Maxx Morando for the past two years and is already working on her next album. We can't wait to see Miley's next move.
