With a glittering career in acting that's seen her ascend from Australian TV shows to bona fide Hollywood blockbusters, Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson also boasts an impressive global property portfolio. With homes in Sydney, Los Angeles and New York, Rebel Wilson’s real estate is worth around $16 million (£13m), while her net worth is estimated at around $22 million (£17.9m). But where does she live now?

The Bridesmaids break-out star made her way towards global, big-screen stardom following early success on Australian TV and has invested her fortune into multiple properties across the globe. When she's not holidaying in Europe with her partner, fashion and jewellery designer, Ramona Agruma, Rebel lives in the Hollywood Hills. But where did she start out? 

The comedy queen was born on March 2, 1980 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Her parents, who are both professional dog handlers, originally named her Melanie Elizabeth Bownds but Rebel changed her name, as did two of her three siblings, her sister Annaleise goes by 'Annarchi', while her brother uses the name 'Ryot'. Rebel has claimed her great aunt was Lillian Bounds, who married Walt Disney, but this has been disputed.

Growing up in the suburbs of Kenthurst, Parramatta and Castle Hill, the award-winning actress attended Tara Anglican School for Girls before studying Theatre at the University of New South Wales, where she later achieved a Bachelor of Laws degree. As a former Rotary International youth ambassador for Australia, she also worked in South Africa where she contracted malaria. Wilson later recalled malaria-induced hallucinations in which she envisioned herself winning an Oscar, which spurred her on to pursue an acting career…

Before attending university, Wilson graduated from the Australian Theatre for Young People in 2003. She would go on to land roles in a number of Australian TV series, including the hit comedy Pizza from 2003–2007, before writing, producing and starring in a musical comedy series called Bogan Pride in 2008. Making her Hollywood feature debut in 2007's Ghost Rider, starring Nicholas Cage, the rising star went on to turn heads in the much-loved comedies Bridesmaids and A Few Best Men.

After rooming with her Bridesmaids co-star Matt Lucas in West Hollywood from 2012-2015, Rebel decided it was time to buy her own place in California, which she appears to still own today. The four-bedroom house has a modest 2,500-square-foot of space and is located in the private, celebrity-loved area of Hollywood Hills. It was reportedly purchased for $2.2 million (£1.79m).

One year later, in 2015, the star snapped up an apartment in Gladesville, Sydney for AUD$740k ($516k/£420k). With a grass courtyard, the boutique block apartment is the height of designer luxury, with a wide-open outlook and sweeping views to the city and Harbour Bridge.

The large, two-bedroom apartment incorporates calm, neutral decor and breezy open-plan living throughout, with European finishes and eco-friendly bamboo flooring. The kitchen boasts stone worktops and high-end appliances, with shadowline ceilings and that all-essential zoned air.

Built-in wardrobes can be found in each king-size bedroom, with study areas and ambient lighting. Elsewhere, Rebel would have enjoyed the Parisi-appointed bathroom with Phoenix matt black tapware and oak veneer joinery. Perfect for relaxing after a gruelling actor's schedule.

A so-called 'entertainer’s balcony' is all set up to accommodate even the most A-list of guests, with handy parasol for alfresco get-togethers in the baking New South Wales heat and incredible sweeping views of the city and Anzac Bridge beyond. After being advertised for rent in February 2019 for AUD$595 ($415, £338) a week, reports say the unit was sold in 2020 in the early AUD$800,000s (c. $558k, £455k). 

The Workaholics star went on to purchase this three-storey waterfront new build in 2015 for AUD$3.76million ($2.6m, £2.12m). A meticulously designed renovation was then carried out by award-winning architect Paul O’Connor. The attractive three-bedroom residence sits atop Sydney Harbour with stunning views of the Parramatta River.

Inside the 2,100 square-foot house you’ll find a gorgeous Arabesco marble-topped kitchen, complete with smoked oak cabinetry, dual fuel Wolf range and Sub-Zero fridge. The contemporary, three-bedroom home also features a lift that Rebel decided to add herself, providing views out across the harbour.

Writing about the property’s listing on Instagram in March 2022, the Cats star expressed her sadness at selling her waterfront abode due to work commitments overseas. "It’s great for a boat owner with its own jetty and moorings. Or you can just watch all the boats go by every day – especially at sunset, it’s gorgeous."

We’re sure she misses the three spacious marble bathrooms, the powder room and the epic floor-to-ceiling views. Perhaps she also thinks fondly of the almost-1,400 square feet of travertine terraces and balconies, boasting enviable views across the infinity edge ozone pool.

An outdoor kitchen sits upon the rather spacious private terrace, ideal for al fresco dining with a view. In April 2022, Wilson reportedly sold her beloved waterfront property for just under AUD$9 million ($6.3m, £5.1m), earning her a rather healthy profit over five years.

In 2016, while starring in successful rom-com How To Be Single, Rebel purchased a five-bedroom house in West Hollywood for $2.95 million. Spanning 4.409 square-feet of living space, the residence was said to be brand new and had never been lived in.

Once inside, you are greeted by a grand, double-height entrance gallery where you might spy a climate-controlled glass-fronted wine closet beneath the staircase. You also may enjoy the extra-wide wooden floorboards that run throughout the light and breezy open-plan property.

The main floor boasts coffer-ceilings, a gas fireplace, informal dining area and French doors that lead out onto the slim, stone-tiled veranda, providing glimpses of the sun-kissed garden beyond. The contemporarily outfitted kitchen adjoins the living areas, hosting top-quality appliances and a walk-in pantry behind a frosted glass door.

The main bedroom upstairs features an attractive vaulted ceiling, cosy fireplace and private terrace accessed through French doors. You’ll also find a 'refreshment bar', two walk-in closets and a beautiful bathroom with large soaking tub and a marble-lined multi-head shower. Bliss!

A plunge-sized saltwater pool awaits outside, surrounded by strips of lawn and an elevated tiled spa. You'll also find an outdoor fireplace, in case the pool gets too chilly (hard to imagine in West Hollywood), which would be perfect for gathering round on a summer's evening with friends to share celebrity stories.   

In 2017, while launching a plus-sized clothing range called Rebel Wilson x Angels, the entrepreneur invested in another New South Wales property. Bought for AUD$880k ($614k/£500k), the two-bedroom apartment resides in Gladesville near her first investment residence.

Black-framed gallery windows host incredible panoramic views across Homebush Olympic Park and Parramatta River, and offer residents a chance to glimpse "glorious sunsets", according to the listing. The contemporary apartment block is reportedly pet friendly. However, despite a childhood of dog shows and pet-grooming competitions, plus hosting reality show Pooch Perfect, Rebel does not own any pets herself. 

The high-end finished apartment features a Caesarstone gas kitchen, a Parisi-appointed bathroom like her first New South Wales apartment and a Juliet balcony with sweeping city views. The abode also hosts video intercom, to make sure visitors are who they say they are. Great for security and peace of mind.

The Rules of Engagement star ended up selling her investment apartment in 2020, securing more than AUD$880k ($614k, £500k) after a three-week campaign, according to Domain. Becoming quite the property flipper, she told Vogue in 2018: "I never thought I would even care about that kind of thing, but maybe because I travel so much and work so hard I want my house to be a sanctuary.”

Also in 2017, after wrapping up her time on the Pitch Perfect movie franchise and winning MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance, plus a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress, the award-winning star purchased an apartment in New York City for a reported $2.95 million (£2.4m).

The brand new unit sits in the popular Tribeca area of Manhattan, with A-list neighbours including Harry Styles, Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. This particular complex is very celebrity-friendly, with 24-hour doorman and concierge services, underground garage and state-of-the-art security systems.

The How to be Single actress can enjoy relaxing when she isn't filming within the calming surrounds of the Tribeca abode. It boasts peaceful arched windows, plenty of natural light, and neutral-toned decor.

Rebel's Tribeca apartment building also has a 71-foot indoor swimming pool, 5,000 square-foot landscaped roof terrace and that all-important climate-controlled wine cellar. Wilson reportedly bought the New York home under the LLC 'The Blue Bay Trust', which she also used to buy her two properties in LA.

Seen here on a romantic trip to Sardinia, Italy, Rebel posted a photo to her Instagram account of her holding hands with partner Ramona Agruma. Although a happy time with her new romance, Rebel felt pressured to announce her relationship publicly before the publication of an article by Andrew Hornery of The Sydney Morning Herald, which threatened to out her first. Even though she clearly enjoyed Italy, Rebel has eyes on another destination for her next home...

While visiting London for the BAFTAS in 2022, the busy star announced her plans to move to the capital for work, having landed a lead role in a British television series.
