Named Pied-A-Mer, this charming houseboat is located in Lake Union in Seattle, USA. Clad in cream wood and fitted with a dark green canopy, the small but stylish boat has two levels and double doors that lead down to the lower deck. 

A fairly new floating home, it was built in 2007 and offers 542 square feet of living space. Inside, it's been decked out with characterful wood-panelled walls and a beamed ceiling, creating a cabin-style vibe that's punctuated with accents of red and white. The main living space is open-plan with a small kitchenette, dining zone and relaxed sitting area.

The two-bed, one-bath houseboat has a master bedroom at one end of the property featuring a double bed with built-in storage underneath. Swathes of windows line the sides of the boat, drawing in plenty of natural light to balance out the heavy wood interior.

Stretching an enormous 1,130 square foot, this contemporary two-storey houseboat was built in 2017 and has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Clad in corrugated grey panels, the modern design features three outdoor terraces with glass balustrades, plus a cantilevered upper level.

Inside, the modern Scandi-style interior features wooden flooring and minimalist furniture for a chic but homely feel. The main living space sits on the upper floor and has floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that lead out onto the upstairs deck.

Constructed in 1964, Houseboat Mory was named after the family who commissioned its construction. Located in Kortrijk, Belgium, it was converted into a contemporary living space in 2012, with the new design mixing a sleek modern aesthetic with the boat's authentic seafaring features.

The heart of the ship comprises nearly 1,000 square feet of space, accommodating a high-end kitchen, dining area and living zone. Metallic panel doors slide back to provide access to the outside deck, while stairs lead up to the master bedroom.

The boat's three bedrooms sit at the back of the ship, while handy built-in wardrobes are located outside in the hallway. A second terrace is also found to the rear, as well as a self-contained guest studio that's perfect for hosting visitors.

Recently converted, this dutch barge has all the luxuries of a modern city apartment. Located on a river-facing mooring in Chelsea, it was built in 1924 and measures 73 feet in length. Known as Anny, the traditional-style boat is decked out in white and navy paintwork and adorned with red flowers. 

Inside, Anny has one king-sized bedroom featuring fitted wardrobes and a separate dressing room. Living spaces include a quaint country-style kitchen complete with an induction hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher and butler's sink, plus a wheelhouse reading room with bespoke plantation shutters for privacy.

Moored on the north bank of the River Thames, this stylish barge is found at Imperial Wharf Marina in Fulham. Measuring nearly 100 feet in length, the sizeable floating home has recently been revamped and finished to the highest standards

Measuring 95 feet in length, it's recently been renovated with a host of sustainable materials including oak flooring and hardened frosted glass in the bedroom. 

Inside, there's a luxurious open-plan kitchen and dining space on the first level. Adjacent to this is the master bedroom, complete with ensuite bathroom, plus two further guest rooms. Spread over two floors, the houseboat has a living room on the upper floor with stunning views across the river.

This opulent home isn't short on amenities either, with a full air-conditioning system and a hot tub in the master bedroom. Our favourite feature though has to be the sunny decked terrace at the front of the boat – the perfect mini oasis to kick back and relax.

This high-end houseboat was built back in 1962 as a steel cargo ship. In 2015, it was sensitively transformed into a stylish home, complete with a modern industrial-style interior. Part of the Waterwonen Amsterdam project, the boat occupies one of 34 water plots reserved for residential houseboats in the city.
