With super-rich single men looking to relax in serious luxury and impress their mates (and dates), the high-end bachelor pad is having a resurgence. These multi-million properties speak to 'work hard, play hard' types with Bond fantasies and money to burn; expect amazing tech, wow-factor architecture and views for days. And plenty of room to park the Ferraris, naturally.

First up we have 'Opus', an uber-modern mansion situated on Billionaire's Row, North Hillcrest Road in Beverly Hills. It was designed by Paul McClean, the mind behind a number of the United States' most expensive homes (more on that later). The opulent mansion offers 20,500-square-feet of stunning contemporary design, with two swimming pools and breathtaking hilltop views.

As well as two pools, it's got no less than seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. But the real bachelor benefits start to pile up from here on in. How about a 170-bottle Cristal Champagne vault? Or a secondary wine vault that surrounds the glass dining room with its lavish 20-foot glass waterfall? Then there's the small matter of the mansion's 10-car museum that comes with a gold Lamborghini Aventador Roadster and a gold Rolls-Royce Dawn to sweeten the deal. 

There's no doubt the mansion exudes sex-appeal. And the marketing, by real estate developer and Skyline Development CEO Nile Niami, is designed to capitalise on this. Niami explains the thinking behind the video trailer for the property: "We took a darker approach to the styling and direction of the trailer because as night falls on Opus, the house has a very alluring and undeniably sexy vibe that needed to be captured. I kept telling the director to go darker... go sexier."

In the daylight, the home's wellness centre is bright and inspiring, featuring a cold/hot plunge pool, steam massage room and a full-service beauty salon with hair styling facilities. The swathes of windows frame stunning views of downtown Los Angeles, but if that's not enough to look at, there's also a 15-seat theatre and a gourmet show kitchen, not to mention two additional bars.

Discounted from an eye-watering $100m (£79m), the mansion comes fully furnished with notable artwork too, including a contemporary art collection with original Damien Hirst paintings and even an Andy Warhol. The motor court (millionaire speak for 'garage') has room for 10 cars and features a commissioned gold statue to guard your collection, as well as a state-of-the-art security system of course. Taking a spin in one of those cars might be the only reason to leave...

For the international bachelor about town, we have this incredibly luxurious penthouse in Singapore. And it's not just any apartment block, it's the tallest one in the city - worthy of the bachelors in the film the Crazy Rich Asians. The Wallich Residence is 290m high, and it's rumoured the cost will be somewhere in the region of S$128m (£74m).

The ‘Super Penthouse’ is located from the 62nd to 64th floor, and the residence boasts 21,000-square-feet, which is the largest non-landed residence in Singapore, don't you know. It features an exclusive private swimming pool, cabana, jacuzzi room, personal bar facilities, and an entertainment room.

The seriously swanky four-story penthouse atop Miami's Porsche Design Tower sold for $25 million (£20m), just two weeks after the building's launch in 2017. A collaboration with top Miami developer Gil Dezer, the 650-foot, 60-story tower on Miami's Sunny Isles Beach is the first skyscraper by Porsche Design, the Porsche offshoot renowned for its slick, supercar-inspired design aesthetic.

This magnificent modern mansion in the upscale Bel Air neighbourhood of Los Angeles isn't just America's most pricey man-ctuary – it's the second most expensive home listed in the USA.

The achingly luxurious man cave has been created by elite Los Angeles developer Bruce Makowsky, who was primarily inspired by megayacht design – the house is essentially a world-class megayacht with all the trappings, but on land. The 38,000-square-foot house boasts four sprawling floors and a total of 12 sumptuous designer bedrooms, 21 ultra-luxe bathrooms, one with the largest hot tub ever built, and three gigantic gourmet kitchens, just in case two weren't enough.

Speaking of sexy, super-pricey properties, step up The One. The half-a-billion dollar property is in one of the dreamiest locations in the US, sitting atop the LA hills, with panoramic views of the ocean on one side and of the LA skyline on the other (not to mention the green hills below, dotted with smaller – lesser – mansions).

Part of the recent rise in so-called 'giga-mansions', the property is currently the most expensive pad listed in the US. It's aimed at newly-affluent tech tycoons and other plutocrats who can afford to splash out on such opulence and excess.

Designed and decorated in a modern, minimalist style by architect Paul McClean, the property is swathed in marble and glass. It's twice the size of the White House, and as LA has since tightened its property restrictions, it's unlikely there'll be another property of its 'giga' proportions in the area.

One of the most expensive homes in the US has to have a few super extravagant touches, and they don't come more luxe than floor-to-ceiling aquariums full of jellyfish. 

The 20-bedroom property even has a moat, four pools to choose from, and its own nightclub. Fancy a spot of bowling? There's a four-lane alley. And if you want to go to the cinema afterwards you don't even have to leave your pad, as the dwelling comes complete with state-of-the-art screens.
