Hollywood star, entrepreneur and hit-maker Jennnifer Lopez has come a long way from her humble beginnings in the Bronx. With luxury pads in Bel Air, New York, the Hamptons and Miami, the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer owns homes worth around $124.8 million (£98m), and has been a savvy investor on her way to the top.
With a successful career spanning three decades and a net worth estimated at $400 million (£315m), J.Lo has become one of the biggest stars on the planet. Click or scroll to take a closer look at the homes she's picked up on her way to the top...
Where does J.Lo live?

Jennifer Lopez currently lives in the $61 million (£47.7m) Beverly Hills home she owns with husband Ben Affleck. The couple bought the 12-bedroom mansion in spring 2023 following their wedding in July 2022, but appear to have fallen out of love with the house as rumours persist that it has been put on the market in a private deal.
Nothing has been has been officially confirmed but at 35,000 square feet (3,252sqm) sources told TMZ.com that Lopez thinks it's too big, while Affleck says it's too far from his children and has been renting a house in Brentwood, California where his ex-wife Jennifer Garner lives.

Life is pretty complicated for the actress and singer right now, so let's wind back to when things were a lot more simple... A world away from the glitz and glamour that surrounds her today, Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born on 24th July 1969.
The middle child of three sisters, the family lived in Castle Hill, a residential neighbourhood in the Bronx, New York. J.Lo's childhood home was a tiny apartment, but the Lopez clan soon upsized into a place big enough for their growing family.
Where is J.Lo from?

J.Lo is famously proud of her roots and has referenced them throughout her career, most notably in her hit song 'Jenny from the Block'. Perhaps this two-storey house on Blackrock Avenue in the Bronx was the first to inspire her when the family moved in.
J.Lo's father, David, worked as a computer technician and her mother, Guadalupe, was a homemaker, so buying a house this size was a big achievement for the family. The 1,500-square-foot (139 square metres) house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Jennifer Lopez's acting debut

Jennifer shared a room with her two sisters, Lynda and Leslie, so had very little private space of her own. Downstairs, the kitchen and living room were cosy and had everything that the family could need. The house was last on the market in 2009 and sold for an estimated $439,000 (£345k).
While still living in Blackrock Avenue, J.Lo started singing and dancing lessons at the age of five. She excelled in the performing arts during her final year of high school, where she heard about a film casting for production My Little Girl. She made her acting debut as Myra in the 1986 movie. After working on the film, she joined a dance college in Manhattan at the age of 18.

J.Lo moved out of her parents' Bronx home when she was 18 and was effectively homeless; she had no permanent base for a few months.
Determined to try to dance full-time, she slept on the sofa of her dance studio and the Ballet Hispánico centre in the Upper West Side. Finally, a few months later she landed her first gig, a dancing job that would take her to Europe.
J.Lo's big break

On her return in the early 1990s, J.Lo threw herself into auditions and got her first big break when she was picked to be a 'Fly Girl' dancer in season three of American comedy In Living Color.
Finally getting her chance in the spotlight, the soon-to-be star moved to Los Angeles. Between 1991 and 1996, she landed various high-profile backing dancer spots with huge pop acts like New Kids On The Block and Janet Jackson.
Inspired by the Bronx

From her 1997 star turn in Latin biopic Selena to her first major Hollywood role opposite Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson in Money Train, J.Lo's acting career was going from strength to strength. It was during this time that she also cut her first demo, in Spanish, which caught the ear of Tommy Mottola at Sony Music.
In 1999, J.Lo finally got her first hit with 'If You Had My Love' and her debut album On the 6, inspired by the subway line in New York City, which the star used to travel on from the Bronx.

With her first number-one single and album under her belt, J.Lo was finally bringing home the bacon. In 2000, she invested in her first-ever luxury home, the beginning of her huge property portfolio.
Located in a private gated community called The Summit, the seven-bedroom home overlooks Beverly Hills and Studio City. The star splashed out huge (back then) $4.3 million (£3.4m) on the exclusive home and, as with many things in her amazing career, the gamble paid off...

The main house has 15,000 square feet (1,393sqm) of living space with 11 bedrooms and its very own theatre. Lopez put the home on the market in 2004 and sold it to nightclub owner Sam Nazarian for $12.5 million (£9.8m), making a hefty profit.
Singer Gwen Stefani bought the house and gave it a refit, overhauling the interiors in 2006, transforming it into a unique celebrity property. Maximalist decorator Kelly Wearstler took charge of the design.
The grounds include a large pool and spa, a tennis court, a guesthouse with its very own gym and a large outdoor living space complete with sofas, fireplace and exterior kitchen. In fact, J.Lo loved the grounds so much, she chose it as the location for her wedding to Marc Anthony in June 2004.

After the continued success of her first album, J.Lo went on to purchase a second luxury home in 2002: this beachfront mansion in Miami for an undisclosed amount. The Spanish-style home is situated on just over 1.2 acres of land, peppered with manicured gardens and swaying palm trees.
The property has a 60-foot-long (18m) swimming pool and spa, a 6,000-gallon koi pond, a coral stone deck, a cabana and an incredible outdoor kitchen. It also features a dock that has room for several large boats, as well as 200 feet (61m) of clear waterfront on Biscayne Bay.

As well as its large formal rooms, balconies and terraces, the home has seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. It also has a lift and a spiral stairwell featuring a wrought-iron banister, arched arcades and limestone floors and a two-storey rotunda foyer.
Built in 1929, it oozes 1920s classic Mediterranean charm and features a theatre, wine cellar and a grand formal dining room with cloister windows and stone floors, as well as an interior courtyard.

Upstairs, the master bedroom alone measures 1,000 square feet (93sqm), the floor made from 150-year-old hardwood. Comprising three bedrooms knocked into one, the suite has a terrace, gym, office and an ensuite bathroom.
The singer only owned the house for three years however, selling up in 2005 to healthcare entrepreneur Mark Gainor and his wife for $13.9 million (£11m), say TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, shortly after her very public split from Ben Affleck first time around in 2004.

The new owners spent a whopping $11 million on renovation work, including the spacious kitchen, which is decorated in neutral colours much like the rest of the house with a large island and exposed beams. Singer Phil Collins became the next high-profile owner in 2015, when he bought the iconic home for $33 million (£26m).
He sold the property in January 2021, but not without some drama with his ex-wife Orianne Cevey, who moved into the home, secretly married another man and then refused to leave unless Collins agreed to renegotiate their 2008 divorce according to Vanity Fair. He managed to sell the house for $40 million (£31m) earning himself a decent profit.
J.Lo and Marc Anthony's Long Island estate

Before tying the knot with J.Lo in 2004, Marc Anthony purchased this Georgian-style brick mansion in Brookeville, Long Island in late 2000 for $3.7 million (£2.9m). J.Lo moved in after the wedding and in 2008, she bought a second house across the street for just over $2 million (£1.6m).
The couple hired interior designer Thom Filicia to makeover the interiors of the 10,500-square-foot (975sqm) mansion, which offers 10 bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms. When their twins were born in 2008, the stars decided to raise them there for the foreseeable future.

The house isn't short of a few luxuries and even includes this fully equipped cinema and a recording studio. The main living spaces include a vast reception room that spans the full width of the mansion, a wood-panelled library, a study and a sunroom.
The eat-in kitchen with its slab marble worktops and a double-wide centre island was perfect for the family and many of the rooms feature lacquered oak floors and fireplaces. Outside, the estate is dotted with cedar, beech and cypress trees and features a bluestone terrace that overlooks the swimming pool, tennis courts and a Colonial-style guesthouse.

Upstairs, there are five guest bedrooms and a fun four-bed bunkroom. The huge master suite features a marble bathroom with a fireplace, custom-fitted dressing rooms and an upper level with an office space and full-service beauty salon.
Less than a year after their divorce in 2014, Marc Anthony put the home on the market with Dolly Lenz Real Estate for $12 million (£9.4m), eventually selling in 2017 for $4.5 million (£3.5m).

While still married to Marc Anthony, the Bronx-born superstar bought this three-acre estate in early 2010 for $8.2 million (£6.4m). The sprawling mansion comprises two huge buildings, which include a spacious main house and an entertainment pavilion linked by an interior bridge, making it the perfect party pad.

Built in 1987, the entrance of the main house opens into a double-height reception hall, which leads through to this formal living and dining room, both with wood-burning fireplaces.
The traditional-style house, which has 17,129 square feet (1,591sqm) of living space, was completely renovated by Lopez during her ownership and contains both dance and recording studios and a 20-seat screening theatre, so she could live and work and still be there for the twins.

At the back of the home is the less formal family living area, which is more relaxed in style and includes this cosy snug where we can imagine J.Lo curling up with a good book. On the ground floor, there's also a huge gourmet kitchen and adjoining family room with a built-in wet bar which opens to the outdoor living room and pool area.
Upstairs meanwhile, are eight bedrooms, three on the main level, plus four more in the north wing, with each including an ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

Outside, the manicured grounds include a resort-style swimming pool, a play area and an outdoor lounge. The garage has space for up to eight cars, with room for 15 more in the court.
In January 2015, the star put the home on the market for $17 million (£13.4m). According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the price was lowered to $12.5 million (£9.8m) and it eventually sold in March 2017 for $10 million (£7.9m).

Already worth $250 million (£197m) with an annual income from American Idol of at least $12 million (£9.4m), it’s no wonder that J.Lo decided to invest nearly $10 million (£7.9m) of her hard-earned cash on a beautiful home in the Hamptons in 2013, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
Built in 2004, the 8,660-square-foot (804sqm) property looks surprisingly traditional for a building that is less than a decade old at the time of the purchase, and sits on three acres of grounds in Water Mill, the Hamptons, close to Mecox Bay.

Located on a quiet cul de sac, the elegant property is incredibly private and has a gorgeous heated pool in the garden.
Plus, it's close enough to New York, so the star could attend to all her many business ventures, including a fashion and perfume line and even her own range of mobile phones Verizon, targeted at the Latino market. According to The New York Post, the star had been looking for a property on Long Island for years and visited the mansion several times.

Already split from Marc Anthony at the time of the sale, she was accompanied on the viewings by her 25-year-old boyfriend Caspar Smart and her two children Emme and Max. Stepping inside, the eat-in kitchen has bar seating, a central island, a chef’s stove and two huge, state-of-the-art refrigerators.
Long Island is traditionally thought of as the home of America’s “old money”, but we’re sure residents were more than happy to have Lopez as their new neighbour. After all the star topped the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2012, earning $52 million (£41m) that year alone.

The home has eight bedrooms, including the master bedroom with its own fireplace and private seating area, and access to a covered deck. It has a sauna, steam room, screening room and lots of covered porches for those well-deserved quiet moments of reflection.
After divorcing Marc Anthony in 2014, J.Lo went on a bit of a real estate shopping spree. Not far from the Hamptons estate she still owns, she started out with a penthouse in Manhattan, New York towards the end of 2014 for just over $20 million (£15.7m)...

Any global star has need of a base in New York City, and J.Lo opted for this 6,500-square-foot (604sqm) duplex on the top two floors of the historic Whitman Mansion. Unusually for New York, the home has 3,000 square feet (278sqm) of outdoor space, encompassing several terraces and even a putting green, with stunning views of New York and is accessed via a private elevator.
When Lopez decided to sell up, she listed the home in October 2017 for $27 million (£21m). It took seven years to sell the property, and she finally closed the deal in April 2024 to an unknown buyer for an undisclosed sum, according to The New York Post.

In August 2016, J.Lo bought an incredible French-inspired mansion in Bel Air for $28 million (£22m). According to Vanity Fair, she purchased the property with her young twins in mind. Built in 1940, the nearly 13,000-square-foot (1,207sqm) home was designed by architect Samuel Marx.

The home is perfect for entertaining and comes with some jaw-dropping extras, including its very own pub, two guest cottages and an amphitheatre with seating for 100 people. The interiors are informal and relaxed with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed beams. The house was captured in a video tour by Carolwood Real Estate. Overall, there are nine beautiful bedrooms, including the master bedroom, which has an impressive fireplace, outdoor terrace and canopy bed.

With plenty to keep J.Lo's twins occupied, the back garden is full of fun activities and features, from mini-golf to an infinity-edge swimming pool and a vegetable garden.
However, after toying with the idea of renovating the home with Ben Affleck, J.Lo instead decided to place the property back on the market for a whopping $42.5 million (£33.4m), which dropped to $39.9 million (£31m) in April 2023. Architectural Digest reported that the property finally sold for $34 million (£27m).

In March 2018, J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez purchased a condo on the 36th floor of this prestigious high-rise building, known as 432 Park Avenue, for $15.3 million (£12.2m) according to Town & Country Magazine.
Offering 4,000 square feet (371sqm), it's quite a bit smaller than the superstar's other properties, but its swanky zip code makes it a great investment.

The apartment features minimal décor, herringbone oak floors and huge windows that look out over the Manhattan skyline.
It may of course merely have been an investment property, as the couple sold it on within the year for $17.5 million (£13.7m), earning the couple over $2 million (£1.5m) on the deal. Talk about property flippers!

J.Lo and A-Rod then snapped up this Malibu beach house for a cool $6.6 million (£5.2m) in January 2019. Captured on video by The Malibu Life Team for Compass, the 4,404-square-foot (408sqm) home previously belonged to Entourage actor Jeremy Piven spent $1.5 million (£1.2m) on renovations to the home.
Luxury amenities in the house include an upstairs screening room, a Jacuzzi on the main floor's outdoor deck and an extensive entertainment unit on the lower level, which features a wet bar and sauna. The now-separated couple listed the home in July 2020 for just under $8 million (£6.3m) and went on to sell it for $6.8 million (£5.3m) in September the same year.

Not long after snapping up their cosy Encino home, J.Lo and A-Rod also splashed out on this lavish estate on the celebrity-packed Star Island. Nestled between Miami and Miami Beach, this exclusive enclave is frequently dubbed Miami’s Millionaires’ Row. Listed for $40 million (£31m), they got a slight discount, paying $32.5 million (£25.5m) for the huge 14,800-square-foot (1,375sqm) home.

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the incredible house has 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, an elevator, a library, a wine room, a stunning kitchen, a family room, a guesthouse, and a 100-foot wooden dock. Outside you'll find tropical gardens, several outdoor entertaining spaces, a covered bar and a cabana bath. There's also an infinity-edge swimming pool and illuminated Jacuzzi that dazzles when night falls, while the 100-foot-long (30m) dock is the perfect place to moor a yacht.

J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez broke off their engagement in April 2021 after four years together. Not long after, she rekindled her romance with her old flame Ben Affleck. After months of speculation, J.Lo officially confirmed that she and Affleck were back together nearly 20 years after they first started dating first time around.
In the interim, both had married and had children, but were full of hope and excitement that this time their relationship was for keeps.

In May 2021, Jen and Ben were spotted by Page Six on the balcony of a rented oceanfront mega-mansion in the ultra-exclusive neighbourhood of Miami Beach said to cost $130,000 (£102k) a month. In the first flush of their reunion, they were photographed on holiday in Montana, The Hamptons and LA.

Jen and Ben were spotted on this balcony early in their renewed relationship. The 10,000-square-foot (929sqm) house belonged to jewellery designer Paul Morelli who had bought it for $17.5 million (£13.7m).
The home sits on a huge 27,000-square-foot (2,500sqm) lot and with a barbecue area, swimming pool and Jacuzzi as well as a dock and boat lift, there's nothing more the couple would ever need. A promo video on Youtube shows a stunning modern house with 11 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, a separate guesthouse, a gym, an office and three garages.

J.Lo and Ben Affleck were serious about putting down roots together and began house hunting in earnest. With five children between them, their list of requirements was long and difficult to satisfy and so began a period of making property moves - that didn't work out for them.
In the Summer of 2021, they viewed a $65 million pad in LA’s upscale Holmby Hills neighbourhood known as The Bellagio Estate, which offered 1.1 acres of land and golf course views. Then in March 2022, after months of searching, Jen and Ben went into contract for a huge Bel-Air property spanning nearly 20,000 square feet. According to TMZ, who broke the story, the couple "sealed the deal in the mid-$50 million (£39m) range". Unfortunately, their escrow deal fell through in April 2022. Shortly after the deal fell through on the $55 million (£43m) Bel Air estate, the now-engaged duo were seen visiting properties in Beverly Hills and Bel Air and according to The Daily Mail, they took a tour of one of LA’s grandest homes, the famous Spelling Manor.
The former home of Aaron Spelling and his wife Candy hit the market in February 2022 for $165 million (£130m). One of the most famous and expensive single-family homes in Los Angeles, it is larger than the White House with 123 rooms and located in the star-studded neighbourhood of Holmby Hills whose residents include Kylie Jenner and Rod Stewart.
A Beverly Hills stop-gap

In June 2022, TMZ reported that the couple had potentially set their sights on an expansive, seven-bedroom estate in Beverly Hills. Owned by Mariah Carey’s ex-fiancé and Australian billionaire, James Packer, the impressive seven-bed property was originally snapped up by Packer in 2018 for $66 million (£52m) and was once home to Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman.
Although never formally listed, four moving trucks belonging to J.Lo and Affleck gathered outside the Packer pad in June. Despite rumours that they were buying the house, it turns out the newlyweds were simply renting the expansive estate while J.Lo renovated her other Bel Air house.

After getting engaged in April 2022 for the second time since 2002, the couple finally married in July 2022 in an intimate Las Vegas wedding. Jennifer announced their marriage in her fan newsletter, On the J Lo with the heading “We did it”. The marriage licence filing shows that Lopez has taken the name Jennifer Affleck according to The Daily Mail.
After putting Jen's long-term Bel Air estate on the market for $42 million (£33.1m) in February 2023, Bennifer were ready to stop renting James Packer's mansion in Beverly Hills and finally find their own long-term love nest, after a lot of high-profile back-and-forth on the property market.

J.Lo and Ben must have fallen hard for this house, which made a splash when it hit the market at $64 million (£50.5m) in February 2023, because they pulled out of escrow on another $34.5 million (£27m) Pacific Palisades mansion nearby to pursue it. Belonging to one of the city's wealthiest families, Gregory Milken, son of American financier Michael Milken, owned the eight-bedroom, ten-bathroom estate which sits within the Palisades Riviera area near Brentwood.
There would certainly have been enough room for their conjoined family of seven, with a six-bed main house and two-bedroom guest house and it has been described as having “the most incredible views of any home on the west side”. But it wasn't meant to be, with the pair backing out of the deal and going for something even bigger...

After two years of searching and at least two escrow back-outs, the lovebirds finally settled on their forever home when they snapped up this jaw-dropping home on 31 May 2023.
TMZ were the first to report that Lopez and Affleck officially bought the sprawling LA estate for $60.9 million (£47.5m). The 38,000-square-foot (3,530sqm) Walllingford Estate, as it is known, comes with 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms! But did they get a good deal for their new pad?
A savvy deal

Originally on the market at $135 million (£106.5m), which would have broken a record for the most expensive home ever sold in Los Angeles County, the savvy duo cut a deal, reportedly paying in cash and settling at less than half the asking price at a shade under $60.9 million (£47.5m).
What a bargain! Their new 90210 estate sits beyond a hedge-lined, double-gated entrance that's ideal for celebrities keen to protect their privacy.
A-list amenities

Newly renovated, the sprawling two-storey residence was developed by Los Angeles property developer Gala Asher according to The Real Deal, and boasts a whole host of VIP-ready amenities inside. The estate includes a cinema for film nights, a wine room and whiskey room, an at-home spa, sauna and massage room plus hair and nail salons.
There's an impressive indoor sports facility, which includes basketball and pickleball courts as well as an enormous pool thought to be the largest ever built in the Beverly Hills area. Most importantly though, the house is beautiful, with classic panelling said to be inspired by a French chateau, perfect for J.Lo to take pictures of her designer outfits.
A rumoured move

Less than a year after they bought it, numerous reports say that the house is on the market as of May 2024, amidst rumours that their marriage is over. According to The Daily Mail, the couple are asking $65 million for the property in a 'pocket book deal', where a broker handles a private sale and it's not listed publicly.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is renting a property in Brentwood, near his children, while Lopez is said to be house hunting again. Despite the size and luxury, some sources say that neither Jen nor Ben were happy in the house and they both wanted to sell up.

The 'On the Floor' singer launched her most recent album, This is Me....Now in February 2024 with a self-financed, $20 million (£15.7m) multi-media campaign, reported The Independent, which included her Amazon experimental film This is Me...Now: A Love Story, featuring the rekindling of her romance with Ben Affleck.
Yet in May, she said she was "heartsick" at having to cancel her 'This is Me ...Live' tour to be with her "children, family and close friends," the announcement said. And now with the news that she and Affleck are selling their Beverley Hills love nest and are separately house hunting, it may be they are focused on a new chapter in both of their lives. Let's hope there's a happy ending.
