Inside the home of a forgotten Titanic hero
RMS Titanic survivor Harold Bride played a critical role in the fate of the famous ship, but despite fleeting representations in major motion pictures, his name has been largely forgotten by the masses. A junior wireless officer onboard the Titanic, Bride remained at his post after the ship struck an iceberg late at night on 14 April 1912, sending out distress messages to ships in the vicinity until the Titanic’s power finally gave out.
