Now Lidl, our favourite affordable supermarket, has launched its own pocket-friendly range of gadgets to help streamline day-to-day living.

Their collection of smart products work in conjunction with the Lidl Home app, which puts control of your lighting and household appliances at the end of your fingertips.

Easy voice control

Whether you're at home or on the move, you can easily manage your devices from your smartphone or tablet – ideal if you left in a rush and forgot to turn the TV off.

Best of all, the entire range works with Google Assistant, so you can control your gadgets via voice commands too.

The heart of their system is the SilverCrest Gateway (£19.99), which acts as a hub for your smart home setup.

However, their smart products also work with other Zigbee-enabled gateways so you can incorporate them into an existing system too if it's compatible.

The cheapest product in the range, the Silvercrest Smart Plug (£7.99) allows you to seamlessly control your electrical devices via the app, with timer programs and countdown functions available. For more capacity, the Silvercrest Smart USB Extension Lead (£19.99) with three plug points is a good option.

Smart lighting options

When it comes to lighting, there's a great selection of automated options, from the Livarno Lux Smart LED Light Bulb (£7.99), which you can dim via the app, to the Livarno Lux Smart Colour-Change Light Bulb (£9.99) that can be customised with 16 million colours and white light tones.

Alternatively, the Livarno Lux Smart Ceiling Light (£34.99) with three adjustable lamp heads is a great option if you're looking for a new light fixture, while the Livarno Lux Smart 2m Light Strip (£14.99) is a versatile LED strip light that comes with self-adhesive tape and an array of colour options.

If you're setting up your system from scratch, the Livarno Lux Smart Lights Starter Kit (£39.99) is the ideal bundle to get you going. It includes the Smart Home Gateway, three dimmable light bulbs, plus a remote control and all the fixings you’ll need.

Lidl's smart home range is currently available in stores across the country for as long as stock lasts.
