A number of aspirational properties in particular seem to have caught the nation's attention, and they really are the crème de la crème.

From sprawling country estates to unbelievable urban pads, Rightmove's most viewed homes of 2020 are dripping in luxurious trappings, including bowling alleys, waterfalls, Olympic-sized equestrian centres and even car lifts.

Here are the top five listings that captured the public's imagination this year...

Georgian-style manor, Surrey: £30 million

Most of us can only dream of calling this magnificent multimillion-pound mansion in Godalming, Surrey home.

Tucked away in an impressive 30 acres of stunning parkland, this 10-bedroom residence comes complete with its own tennis court, two-lane bowling alley and stables.

As well as a grand outdoor swimming pool and alfresco entertaining terraces, there’s also an opulent heated indoor pool that's ideal for the winter months.

This elaborate Palladian-style home is on the market for £30 million with house.

Urban estate, London: £40 million

Just a few tube stops outside the heart of the capital, this spectacular new-build mansion enjoys panoramic vistas across the picturesque Hampstead Heath.

Set within two acres of land, the extravagant 10-bedroom property comes with a home gym, swimming pool and spa, billiards room and subterranean garage with space for four supercars.

The crowning jewel has to be the glass lift that stops on every floor of the property, before taking you up to a glazed dome and wraparound terrace with jaw-dropping 360-degree views across North London.

The property is jointly listed with Knight Frank and Sotheby’s International Realty for a cool £40 million.

Sprawling rural residence, Essex: £POA

A house worthy of James Bond himself, this Chigwell mansion is nestled within an impressive 52 acres of private land.

It boasts an indoor swimming pool, complete with a waterfall and Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, cinema and home gym. Outside, there’s an Olympic-sized equestrian centre with stable facilities for 10 horses.

Out of all the homes on the list, this one does have the fewest bedrooms – just five. However, the 10-car subterranean garage with a car lift and turntable more than makes up for it.

This incredible pad is on the market with Presidential Estates by Keller Williams with the price available on appointment.

Regal country home, Surrey: £22.5 million

Situated within prime commuter-belt territory, this amazing rural property is set within almost four acres of pristine gardens in the St George’s Hill private residential estate in Weybridge, Surrey.

The newly built seven-bedroom home comes packed with luxe amenities, including a cinema, swimming pool, sauna, gym and spa. Other highlights are the glorious galleried entrance hall and the elegant semi-circular orangery.

It's currently on the market for just shy of £22.5 million with Knight Frank.

Luxury city pad, London: £28.5 million

Positioned in one of the capital’s most enviable postcodes, a stone’s throw from Primrose Hill, this eight-bedroom beauty was originally built in 1903.

It’s fair to say the property has been upgraded somewhat since then, as it now comes with its own movie theatre, gym, spa rooms and a lift that connects each of its four floors.

Other fabulous features include a wine cellar and a private bar, as well as self-contained staff accommodation.

This incredible urban home is listed for sale with Aston Chase for £28.5 million.
