Win a £2m Kensington apartment for a tenner

A luxury developer is raffling off a turnkey apartment in London’s exclusive South Kensington, with the first year's bills thrown in

We have to admit, we’ve occasionally daydreamed about living in swish South Kensington, in the heart of London's museum land, but it’s always been out of our reach… until now.

Gatsby Property, a plush developer, is raffling off one of its brand-new apartments. Organised through Cavidus, a property competition platform run by the same company, the lucky winner gets the keys to first-floor apartment in Princes Gate Mews, Exhibition Road.

Worth a whopping £2 million, the two-bed, two-bathroom apartment is the ultimate city pad. Gatsby is even offering the space fully furnished, so you could move in – or rent it out or sell it on – straight away, without having to spend a thing.

The property, located opposite the Science Museum and within easy reach of both the V&A and the Natural History Museum, features a specially curated interior, with fixtures and fittings from luxury brands such as Camerich and Buster & Punch.

It even boasts a hand-crafted living room dresser, perfect for creating your very own library.

Jonny Jackson, Co-Founder of Gatsby Property & Cadivus, said: “We felt like there was a real gap in the market at the top end [of property raffle sites] and our aim was to put our money where our mouth is and raffle off one of our own newly refurbished apartments in one of the capital’s most sought-after locations.

"This is the first time that this property has hit the ‘open market’ - the eventual winner is 500 times more likely to win when compared with the Euro Millions Lottery.”

The winner will not only be given the keys to the apartment but they can also rest assured that all stamp duty is paid, as well as the first year’s service charge, council tax and utility bills, plus legal fees.

Tickets cost a reasonable £10 per entry. To be in with a chance of winning, simply go to the Cadivus website and answer one question to be entered into the raffle.

Unfortunately, there is no chance of getting an early Christmas present as the winning ticket won’t be drawn until June. If the minimum number of tickets (300,000) are not sold, then a cash prize will be drawn instead.

Still, it could be a very nice mid-year windfall for someone.

This follows an array of other luxury property raffles that have taken place this year.

Notably, Formula 1 boss Eddie Jordan decided to raffle off his £750k trendy London flat, while Mr Motivator himself, Derrick Erol Evans, put his £1.8m Caribbean estate up for grabs. Both competitions are still open for entries.
