With Brexit uncertainty still causing ripples in the property market, it’s more important than ever to list your property at the right time if you want to sell
If you’re in the process of selling your house but are worried that the Brexit debacle will put a stop to it, then keep the faith: according to research, this Friday (29 March – the original date for Brexit) is actually the second most popular date for property sales completions.

Home sales portal OkayLah looked at Land Registry figures for 2018 and found that while the highest number of property sales completed on 29 June in 2018 – 18,758 in total – the second most popular date was 29 March.
With a study by independent advice experts the Advisory finding that the timeframe between the first day of marketing your property and completion of sale is as little as 15 weeks, if your house has been on the market since mid-December, there is a decent chance it could complete this week.
For those not quite ready to list, the following dates also saw a high number of property sale completions in 2018: 28 September, 30 November and 31 August. To meet these dates within the 15-week timeframe, you’d need to list your property by 15 June, 17 August or 18 May respectively.
Meanwhile, to be in with the chance of selling your house on the most popular date of the year (29 June) next year, you’ll need to list your property by 16 March 2020.
