However, with homeware stores in England closed until at least 2 December and non-essential trips to the shops discouraged, stocking up on the materials you need might prove tricky.

Fortunately, some brands and stores are providing contact-free delivery or collection services so you can get hold of everything you need.

Different regions across the UK may have their own restrictions in place so do check your local government website to see what's open in your area.

Lick

New brand on the block Lick offers a considered collection of 49 paint colours and 25 wallpaper designs on their beautifully curated website.

Free delivery is available for peel-and-stick samples, which are priced at £1 (say goodbye to tiny colour cards and messy, expensive sample pots).

Struggling to select the right colour combination? For £45 you can book a video call with the brand’s colourist. The 30-minute appointments offer advice on up to three rooms and include a bespoke mood board featuring the perfect palette for your space.

Next-day delivery on purchases is standard, with delivery priced at £5 or free for orders over £50. You can find more information here.
