Fancy going completely off the grid? This private island for sale in Northern Ireland comes with a bargain price tag
If lockdown has left you longing for more than the daily grind, this secluded isle that's just hit the market could be the perfect place to escape the rat race.
Crehan Island in Northern Ireland's County Fermanagh is a six-acre natural oasis that can only be accessed by boat. The best bit? It can be yours for a mere £85,000.

The island adjoins the 100-acre isle of Dernish and in the summer months when water levels are low, it’s possible to cross the stone causeway between the two islands.
Meanwhile, Crehan itself is home to a jetty suitable for cruisers up to 13-feet long, as well as a snug cabin in the woods that’s ideal for camping and storage.
Bonus for boat lovers
If that wasn't enough, an 18-foot angling boat, an outboard engine and a road trailer are included in the price tag, along with a three-year membership to the Lisnaskea Boat Club, which is just a short hop across the water.
Ideally located, once you moor up on the mainland, it’s just a 15-minute drive to the market town of Lisnaskea, where there are shops, pubs and restaurants for when you feel like rejoining civilisation.
The off-grid retreat is also just a 45-minute drive from the more populated town of Enniskillen, where there are extra leisure and shopping facilities, along with a number of tourist attractions and historic sights.
If you fancy using Crehan as a holiday hideaway as opposed to a permanent home, the good news is that it's less than a two-hour drive from both Belfast and Dublin airports.
Future potential
Though Crehan doesn’t yet have planning permission for future developments, the neighbouring shorelines provide an idea of how the island could be utilised.
Across the water is the isle of Inis Rath, home to a spiritual retreat, educational centre and nature reserve. On the mainland opposite is another centre that hosts yoga and meditation breaks.
Whatever your pipeline dream, you'll need to bear in mind that Crehan has been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI), so there are likely to be some restrictions on what’s possible.
Fancy taking a chance on your own castaway island? Crehan is on the market with Vladi Private Islands for £85,000.
